  1. Yes, cures you plus any bat you've ever been in contact with................
  2. I was blocked by CM early in the pandemic debate because he did not agree with what I was saying. He couldn't actually produce any facts to dispute my criticism of a couple of the points from his posts but he didn't like the idea of it so he blocked me - c'est la vie 😏
  3. Definitely not wanting to argue with you Wbb as I have been a big fan of yours from the Sarah thread but you did mention something here that I wanted to comment on. That is, that I have said from very early on in this pandemic that I thought T&T would never be particularly succesful in any country that doesn't have what I would call a "compliant" population - and the vast majority of European countries don't. Whilst I always thought it was worth pursuing as it would have some value, I never really expected it to be any kind of game changer. Far too many people would not give their true details at pubs etc because there is no way they would want to self-isolate if they were notified that they should. Not the best reflection of the British public, but I feel it is the truth of what has been happening.
  4. Seems like we've been waiting on here forever, for this news - at last it is here and we can all start thinking about life getting back to normal by sometime around the middle of next year at latest ?? Would certainly be nice if they told us if the 10 million doses were enough for 10 million people or 5 million
  5. Thanks R, didn't realise the 2.5% referred to the 7 day rolling average. Good news, anyway.
  6. Yeh, I first tried to blame it on the Hobgoblin............. but even my fuzzy brain saw through that 🙂
  7. Is that maths correct ??? I've had a few drinks watching the footy but surely it's more than 2.5% ???
  8. I did...............and guess what.............. Delia has trousered all the ham 😆
  9. Sorry YF, not quite understanding you. Are you saying the number of 42,276 is a good estimate for today ? If so, why is that so different from the MRC units estimate ? And the last weekly update from Tim Spector (from Zoe) said that his figures were broadly in line with the ONS statistics so I guess they must be accurate ?? Signed confused.com 😷
  10. But the Zoe app which has the largest number of survey participants estimates 42,276 cases today - a huge difference to these figures and perhaps explains why Sage may be having problems estimating/advising , and I'm confused as to how these people can be so far apart. The truth is, I lean towards believing the Zoe survey which has seemed to reflect the number of cases (by which I mean, cases v hospital admissions v deaths) most accurately over the past few months.
  11. Off topic but just had a read through them and saw Hull University is on the list.......... couldn't help remembering the Black Adder episode where he is trying to find the spy in the field hospital 😂
  12. Done...........can't understand the logic of shutting courses. Outside activity, easily social distanced.
  13. This is similar to a post I made a couple of pages ago. Everybody on here keeps intimating that the whole of the "independent/well respected" scientific community are saying we must lock down, but the guy who oversees the largest survey of the population has a contrary view when it comes to whether the virus case numbers are spiralling out of control..................
  14. Thought he looked a proper footballer and a good addition to the team/squad
  15. Bumping this as given the lockdown news coming out and today's new cases figures, I'm even more confused
  16. The thing that completely bemuses me is that Prof Tim Spector (from Zoe), whose opinion is one that I have valued - says that the spread of the virus is not out of control. He says his is the largest data source available and is broadly in line with the ONS statistics. Can anybody explain why he is nowhere near as concerned as others ??
  17. Regarding trace and track. I don't know how things are where you guys are but I can assure you that in my experience if will not matter how much money you throw at it - it will never work properly. People simply do not log into the places they visit, they pretend to scan the QR code or they give a false name/phone number- I'm not judging or criticising, I'm just saying how it is. There may be some benefit but it is very limited
  18. I'm not sure that is all correct Wbb. I suspect that the Jocks haven't listened to Sturgeon any more than the English have listened to Johnson - hence the continuing problems up there, as here. The YouGov website gives Johnson an approval rating of 40% and Sturgeon an approval rating of 37%, although a different chart on the same website gives Johnon 35% - whatever, there isn't much in it at all.
  19. So, do I have this right Wbb ? Are you saying that you think people are already receiving the vaccine(s) on a large scale in the Midlands ? If so, does that suggest that these are people who have agreed to take part in the trials or that the vaccine(s) have been given approval already ? And the reason they have not officially announced that is that there is not the required amount available (as well as the ability to deliver it) for other areas ?
  20. When describing somebody else's incompetence...............always make sure you spell incompetence properly 🤣 Sorry Ricardo.............. couldn't resist 🙂
  21. Can anybody clear one thing up for me. Pretty much at the beginning of all this, there was quite a scandal about Dominic Cummings being at SAGE meetings. I seem to remember something coming out that he had wanted an earlier lockdown put in place (obviously for the general population - not him personally 😉 ) but the Scientists had said it wasn't required. Is that correct or not ? It seems to be a very important point to me and rarely gets mentioned when the Government is criticised for not locking down early enough. Of course, that may be because the story was simply untrue - but I would like to know.
  22. Being siad that they are also meeting his £60K pw wages.............don't think that would sit well with our squad (if true)
