  1. Our CEO said after the wembley win we are back in the Prem and that is where we will stay. Highly unlikely. One simple reason why i think this, we failed to add to our defence. We have known for 2 or 3 years how our defence plays. Alex has already said on more than occasion to the start of our season "we let in sloppy goals". No amount of motivation, no amount of hard work, will stop these sloppy goals. With our defence its inherent and has been for 3 seasons.A strong attack is built on a solid defence, that has never changed in football. Guys like Martin and Whittaker have done wonders for City, and ive never wanted to see them go., but they needed adding to with 1 or 2 quality additions. Its this simple reason that makes the difference from surviving in the Prem. and going down.I made a post  day or 2 ago about my worries should E Benno leave our defence would be even weaker, first reply to that was "good thing hes not a defender then". That is low situation we are at, relying on guys who are not specialist defenders filling the gaps. Same for Brady, he needs to be further up field.City did well with the guys they brought in, except Matt Jarvis, that mystifies me as to why we got him in. But they left it way to late in trying to add to the defence. I applaud them for trying to get Nkoulou or Koulibaly, but they did this in the last week or two before deadline when first priority after the Wembley win should have been to get in new adds to the defence. We will score goals, im happy with Alexs attacking style and im happy with our midfield. But my sincere opinion that we will concede many more than we score. As for the Hughton thing, fans have the right to air their opinions on forums and social media, but they will still get behind their team on matchday. If  players allow themselves to be affected by such things its neither here or there. Players themselves use the media even for their own ends, just look at Berahino.End of the day its not about doom or gloom or even  trying to make comparisons to the Hughton era, its just fans freely expressing what they feel. For me , my opinion is City failed to strengthen the defence, and likely will be a hard lesson to be learned, but nearly every other aspect im happy with. OTBC.
  2. Redmond is not under 21...i dont know if he has to be registered or not.
  3. Right now Wisdom is covering Whittaker, so Martin isnt allowed to get injured lol. We had 3 full months to scout suitable defence additions. we had enough finance  to i would have thought but the club failed. Cannot blame it on any 1 person, just think the club as a whole failed badly. Seems like in the last couple weeks up to deadline they put great effort into getting Koulibaly or NKoulou, but really, im just  mistyfied how we failed to get anyone in whilst letting Turner go.
  4. nutty, the problem with our defence is if any guys consistently have a run of bad games there is hardly anyone to replace them. What most fans  wanted was 1 or 2 new quality defenders to add to our existing defence. Alex always has said if a player does not perform in the first team then someone can replace him. I wouls like to know how thats feasible with our  defence, especially with an injury or two and a suspension, we would be down to the bare bones defence wise.
  5. Hmm..most goals conceded by a club in the 38 matches Prem is 89 held by Derby County from 7 or 8 seasons ago..maybe worth a few bob for that to be beaten this season >.>
  6. 1 or 2 questions im wondering  concerning LDCs 25/26 man squad,  when exactly does the 25 man squad have to be submitted?..was thinking about Vadis coming back in a month and if that would allow him into it.Also is it under 21 yrs of age players that are not included or 21 and under?...Redmond is 21 yrs old so not sure if he qualifies as under the permitted age or not.Defence looks weak however you look at it though.
  7. Up front..Mbokani for RVW..the rest still here. Marginally stronger if Mbokani delivers but  the Grabbs situation will be a test for Alex to resolve.Midfield..Dorrans, Mulumbu and Brady in..Bradders gone, natural shock as was unexpected but looking at things we could afford to lose a midfielder, even 2 more going out on loan for awhile.Defence...not the same Defence....Cuellar, Miguel, Garrido, Turner gone, Wisdom in. Our defence needed upgrading, its 3 players less than a few months ago, more quantity leaves, almost zero quality arrives. I am fearful for the club in the number of goals we could concede this season.
  8. Yup this is now reality. Up front swapped RVW for Mbokani, still have Hooper, Lafferty and Grabban. Midfield weve lost Johnno, lots including me are gutted by that but our midfield is still quite strong. Defence, Turner gone. We have Wisdom and Ryan Bennett to fill in for Martin, Whits and Seb. Weaker than then we got promoted in May.Im not going to doom predict relegation after only 4 matches in, but i have big concerns seeing what we have at the back Think next transfer window  i will avoid watching, total anti climax.
  9. Well, with Johnno off to Derby our midfield will be a little leaner,  with Hooper off to Fulham our forward line will be a little leaner to, and the failure to get any defender in with Turner going  a few days ago our defence is very weak  for back up.So ya we go with what we got, albeit  less than we had before.
  10. Villa and Palace are negotiating a deal for Gayle, expect him to go to Villa, nice for City to watch on but thats all it is. As for Walters, more confident of Leicester agreeing 3mill for him than City. Defender is the priority, if  we get zilch then..
  11. Most other countries in Europe now have reached deadline, think Italy close at 11pm, so if theres any more City interest coming our way its likely to be  here and not abroad, so unless anythings been agreed behind the scenes that Danish CB will be not be coming here.
  12. Yes of course you are right...we still have 20 hours left till deadline...no cause for concern...silly me.
  13. Just seen reports that 3 championship clubs are interested in taking Elliott Bennett..if that happens im very concerned about our defence and the back up we have. Ok assuming Olsson gets fit soon we have young Toffolo and stop gap Brady, but look at the rest..We have let Cuellar, Michael Turner and Miguel go. we have brought in Wisdom. Our regulars are Martin, Whittaker and Bassong. If we let Elliott Bennett go we only left with Wisdom and Ryan Bennett. All we need is a couple of injuries at the back..Seriously, never mind the striker circus transfer gossip, its the defence that is a much more worrying thing to my eyes.
  14. Well folks its now nearly 6pm...exactly 24 hrs  till the deadline arrives, whats this 24 hrs going to bring? We have had  a mountain of rumours concerning our strikers leaving but as of now all 5 are still here.We have had a lot of rumours concerning CBs coming in but as of now none have come in.What will this 24 hrs deliver to City?...its not long thank goodness.
  15. If Mbokani puts in good work rate and scores  some goals along the way and the canary faithful get behind him and not criticise him after 1 or 2 matches he could well turn out to be very good signing. I can already see the City fans adoring his big wide smile. He could be the kind of character we grow to love here. Anyway, here is hoping.
  16. Ya forget trying to think we could still get Koulibaly, Napoli did try hard to get in a CB but failed so KK will stay with them. It is far to late in any case, the deadline closes at 6pm tomorrow. I think in the last 2 or 3 weeks City probably tried their utmost to get in KK or the guy at Marseille but they just failed through a number of circumstances and time has beaten them. Cannot imagine how much effort was put in, imagine much more than we ever know.Times nearly up and if we pull a rabbit out of the hat think its going to be a modest rabbit on the lines of a Collins, or maybe the Danish guy. Or maybe  we will have to go with Russ and Seb all season with Wisdom as cover? <.>
  17. Look on the bright side...we have yet to face any of the big clubs to, maybe we will keep clean sheets against them >.>
  18. Canary One its the last few days of the transfer window, you seriously think Norwich City can waste time saying "ok right lets bid for this or that player, put a huge bid in for him but not enough to actually buy him, to keep our supporters thinking we are trying"?. From all accounts City really tried hard to get Nkoulou...Alex even flew out there. And Koulibaly to im sure they hard a good go at  getting..both CBs are top notch and probably just out of our budget sadly.Unless im reading wrong what you are trying to say. I do agree any amounts we hear from so called sources can be pie in the sky, such as the 14 mill for Afobe from a Mirror source when Jackett stated no figure had ever been discussed by any Wolves person.
  19. The Danish  source says we have bid just over 2 mill?..if this guy is as half decent as some say...then to me thats a figure that other clubs will easy over bid on..this club is in the spotlight now after beating Southampton..maybe we will lose  out to Fulham  >.>
  20. Newsnow are reporting that several french sources say City bid a staggering 14.5 mill pounds for Nkoulou the Marseille CB last week which was rejected. Of course that does not mean its true, but if it was, then it at least shows City are prepared to hand over serious money if they believe it necessary.
  21. The Sun reporting we bidding 3.5 mill for Murray?...with Mbokani on his way i would prefer a Gayle type of player to replace Hooper if he goes..but what do i know <.>I guess the next 48 hours City will be linked to a myriad of players...Wednesday will have a strange feeling  knowing no more of this until January.
  22. Ya me to but sadly hes not going to be with us so its back to the drawing board...still looks like we will get a Collins type in or no one at all.
  23. Hope this happens and quickly, the failure to get Koulibaly was disapointing,  our need for a CB is now urgent and its 2 days left.
  24. Todays performance was going to be as predictable as a wet bank holiday monday. Playing  good and having confidence to have a go as we did in our first 3 games can get you points as weve seen, but we still shipped in 5 goals in those games, and its a case of papering over the cracks of a defence we all have know hasnt been prem quality for 2 or 3 seasons. I dont know if Olsson and Wisdom as the backs and Seb and a new CB will be the answer, but sorry Whits and Martin, not good enough.Even so, Alex i trust in, and he has now seen enough in the last 8 months im sure to know that change is sorely needed. Still early in the season so no reason to get to down. Our midfield and up front  just didnt fizz today either, all round pretty insipid display. No performance like this is ever great, but maybe its come at a good time, early in the season. Overall 3 really good performances and one tepid  one from today, but our defence needs a shake up. Over to you Alex.
  25. Really hope we get this guy, and Mbokani to. 15 mill euro is ridiculous? I cant see how. That is 10.9 mill pound, i would suggest a realistic price in this seasons insane transfer market. Anyway the market is so crazy anyone can quote figures for any player and make some different opinion to anyone else. The guy played 37 games for Napoli last season, so no way can he be that bad. Worries me that Bayern L. are still reported to be sniffing around though. Yes looks like we going to have to set a new highest transfer buy for this guy, but that was inevitable in this transfer market. I guess Seb can help him out with any language barriers if need be.Also Mbokani looks a good deal. He will have Yousef at the club to make him feel at home. And 15 goals in 30 games for his national team, also good. 29 years old, same as Cam. Tuesday is close now so hoping these deals can go through. maybe even allow time for a Gayle swoop?
