Has been transfer listed by Stoke after rejecting thier latest contract offer. A qaulity centre-bck who can play at right-back, young, strong, quick and described by Arsene Wenger as a hard, hard boy could be the perfect partner for Shackell we have been looking for. IMO Would be a qaulity signing. Come on Worthy, sign him up.

For once Nigel jump in quickly with both feet and sign the man - he is definately a quality defender - a bit raw but very strong with an excellent footballing education behind him.
... BUT , Why is he transfer listed by Stoke?
Because he could go for free next Summer and they want to try and get some decent money for him now.

Stoke would rather sell him than let him leave on a free when his contract expires at the end of the month
Becasue he won''t sign a new contract and they''d rather he left now for a fee instead of leaving next summer for nothing. Sign him up Nige
Isn''t he a right back though?  If we are to sign a defender then it has to be a partner for shacks in the centre.

Wouldnt Calum Davenport be a better option?

Halls is a centre back who has also played midfield recently (and scored) so he fits at least one of Worthy''s criteria - being flexible (small squad, need flexibility blah blah.....).
