WBA match

Recommended Posts

As always, let''s ignore the poor away performance and move on. So long as Sunderland drop points then none of the bottom 4 really caught up on us at the weekend. I have noticed WBA have Spurs followed by Man City after us, so if we could win, it''s a massive chance to get some distance on them.

I think next time out, we go with two changes, Hooper and Yobo in for Bennett and RVW. Nothing drastic, then go for the same performance we got versus Sunderland against another team usually short on goals and attacking prowess. I feel Hooper will score again this season, not so much RVW. I can only see him scoring if we were 2-0 up in a game and it was open. He doesn''t look physically capable for this level of football.

Yes it''s critical we need to win v WBA on Saturday, and I agree with Yobo (if fit) and Hooper to be the changes.

I think we need 4 more points, and as for where the other 1 may come from - Fulham : looked good today v Everton, Liverpool : right, Chelsea and Man Utd away and Arsenal at home.... so it''s not obvious were it would come, but we do seem to play better against the big teams at home...

WBA have these games remaining - if we can open up a 6 point gap on them we might just keep them below us, although their goal difference is much better,

us (away)

Spurs (home)

Man City (away)

West Ham (home)

Arsenal (away)

Sunderland (away)

Stoke (home)

Hi Guys,

Well after the most devastating hammer blow at the death yesterday i think all morale and hope was temporarily drained out of us, so this match is sort of a big deal. If you win, i think you are safe, but if we win, we give ourselves a fighting chance, and if i had to choose when the season ended, i think round about now would be be ideal after an utterly awful awful season. No cup run, 5 wins the whole season and a complete reversal on last seasons fortunes. Plus, we''ve thrown away god knows how many leads which should give your team some belief. However, i just keep praying we can get the odd win to see us over the line and rebuild during the summer. You guys of course should see this as a prime opportunity to get that home win but if the miracle (:P) happens and we do get an away win i will feel a lot more positive about being over that dotted line in May. Lets just hope that Sunderland, Cardiff and Fulham stay where they are PLEASE.

All sounds very nice, but this is all reliant on a lot of ''if we win this and they lose that'' which rarely happens as it should on paper..

From our point of view that last minute Cardiff equaliser was good news from the points lost and morale shattered angles but you''re not alone in having trouble against Cardiff. We battered them twice but could still only manage a point over the two games.Turning to Saturday we can only dream that you''ll sleepwalk into it as you did last year. All that sweating and we cruised it 4-0. It''ll be a different story this time make no mistake. If we turn up, which to be fair we have been doing at home, we''ll probably win. Our manager has led a charmed life in all his '' last chance saloon '' games so far and we need that to continue once more at least. We do have one potentially knock-out weapon.........our fan-shaped cardboard clappy things !! If you were at Carrow Rd last season you''ll already be aware of their potency. Desperate times call for desperate measures so expect to see them wheeled out again this week to crank up the atmosphere. Whether they make one jot of a difference to the result who knows but they have a decent track record and not for the first time we need all the rabbits feet going. And some.Regarding relegation as far as I know Norwich fans have no axe to grind with the Baggies so there''s probably other teams we''d rather see go down but if the worst should happen you do always seem to bounce straight back which is more than be said for us, certainly in more recent times.

Yeah in all honesty there isn''t a huge amount between our sides, we aren''t great up front but struggle to keep the goals out too, so it''s gonna be a nervy game that is for sure. I''m using you''ve used up all your home game luck of late and we can put in a very good shift to see us to victory. Nothing against Norwich of course, i went to UEA for a year and loved it, but both teams are desperate to stay up as there is rarely any guarantee of bouncing straight back. I think those cut outs can enhance the atmosphere, but that said, yesterday was electric and we still shot ourselves in the foot completely. Everyone was drained when cardiff equalised yesterday and i still hope/think they''ll meet their fate this season. If sunderland blow tomorrow then they have chelsea man city united and spurs all away in their next 6, a tough selection of games, and hopefully a saving grace.

I thought you''d struggle after deadline day in September, talk of Lukaku coming back and you turn u with Anichebie! I do not rate him in the slightest!

Lukaku was a massive loss for you lot this season and Anelka was a poor replacement.

You''re right in that we''re pretty similar and there are others i''d prefer to go down instead of your lot but if seeing you go spares us, then so be it! Good luck after next Saturday and I hope especially you win your match versus Sunderland. Hard to see them stay up ahead of us if we win on Saturday and Sunderland lose that one.

I''m hoping Evening News are right and SSN are wrong. Bassong seems to play better if Yobo features. Bassong still a liability at times when the ball is at his feet.
