Dean Coneys boots 1,531 Posted January 7, 2011 The fact that Lambert''s family are in Scotland is making people think he might favour Burnley for goeographic reasons. I am not so sure. For surely if he flies from Noriwch that is easier than a drive from Burnley? This is a huge moment. He is a very talented manager and losing him will set us back in my opinion. I could hack it if he went for a mid prem team but Burnley??? Many a yellow and green finger nail being bitten today....
Yellow Wal 315 Posted January 7, 2011 But surely this is the whole point. If he goes to a top Premiership team then that''s understandable but since when have Burnley been a bigger club, with a brighter future, than us?Why would he want to go to a worse club and have a worse team?If he is ambitious, and I am sure he is, why would he go there? Joanna Grey 0 Posted January 7, 2011 Lambert''s eldest is about 16, the next about 13, no idea of the age of the other 2 (younger) kids. Must be a job for his missus but then again I''m sure that they can afford Molly Maid, babysitters, etc.
SWP = Poor Mans Ruel Fox!! 0 Posted January 7, 2011 His family and distance from Scotland will have absolutely no factor in whether he leave us or not, he is fiercely ambitious and therefore knows that the best jobs are not going to be near his family. If he does go to Burnley, and that is still a big IF, it will be for footballing reasons alone.
William Darby 0 Posted January 7, 2011 Lambert should say, "Oi wifey NO, you have had an incredible high standard of living because of my career in football. Live in Norwich or support yourself on your own".

If Lambert leaves to go to a club nearer home, I''d quite understand despite being disappointed. Would we want him to stay if his marriage fell apart as a result of the absences from home. I''d say his job would suffer it that happened and we wouldn''t want those consequences at the club. Either way is not a happy solution for City.
