BTW I don''t think Ambrose should be watching thne midfield as he is a striker!

GJP 73 Posted May 5, 2010 Getting Fraser back is the only thing I really want to see, in particular.Generally I like the squad we''ve got now. Cover for Adam Drury would be good. And maybe a better right back in there with R Martin but I guess Spillane is ok as backup to him.Another winger maybe, someone in the middle of the park with a turn of pace/can score a few goals and another striker would all be handy I guess but I think our first choice starting 11 at the moment is pretty good. Canary_on_the Trent 0 Posted May 5, 2010 There shouldn''t and won''t be major changes to the squad that Lambert has at present as I feel the current squad has enough to survive and compete at the next level but a few additions would be nice and enable us to push on. Too many changes and additions could upset the settled side and team spirit we''ve built over the past 6-12months, this can be underestimated.A keeper will come in whether it is Forster on loan again or someone else. Either a season-loan or an experienced keeper to bring on Rudd & Steer.A left back will come in, possibly Rose but i''d like to think Lambert will look at somebody else, Spurr would be brilliant but can''t see him coming in to play 2nd fiddle to Drury who must start as first choice.Lambert seems to be in the market for another centre half, although i''m not sure another is needed, Doherty has rightfully established himself as first choice, Nelson has done a wonderful job post-xmas but i have my doubts about him at a higher level and i think Whitbread & Askou are more than capable of making the step up comfortably. At right back I still have my doubts about whether Spillane or R.Martin are top end Championship full backs, I think both do a job for us there and Spillane with time has the ability to step up but right now i''m a tad concerned. We definately need to bring in another wide player, preferably a right sided player, I''m not sure about McNamee on the right side and without Hoolahan in the diamond we look a little short on ideas at times. Another central midfielder would be nice to add to Russell, Smith, Lappin, Hughes, Gill & Adeyemi, I think OT-J is on the way out, perhaps a left sided player like Emmanuel-Thomas on loan or Grant McCann. We definately need another proven striker, Holt & Martin i''m sure will score goals next season but nowhere near as many as this season and they''re going to need help, Oli Johnson is still learning and is no more than an impact player and to a certain extent so is Cody. I''ve heard Richard Brodie mentioned but a player with no credentials above the conference isn''t the right target. We haven''t got the money to spend £2m on a Hooper, so people like Tudgay, Mackail-Smith or even Garner at Forest is where i''d look. All in all, 5/6 additions to replace the deadwood and add to this seasons successful squad.
