dpit 1 Posted February 11, 2010 Ok, we àre over half way through our year back in the third division and I want to ask the question - which would you have preferred - a season of winning and potential promotion back to the 2nd div with a very possible momentum effect for the following season; or a season on mid to lower table struggling in the 2nd div?Leave aside financial matters for now...just answer the question...and then look back at your outbursts/teeth gnashing at the end of last season and ask yourself, do you feel there is any consistency to your approach. I would love to have the time & energy to compose a compendium of side by side posts from this site by the same posters from May 2009 and Jan 2010. It would be very funny to read. morty 0 Posted February 11, 2010 This was done on a thread the other day and most people said that they were enjoying the season.Ithink that if we get promoted then most people should be able to lookback on the season as having enjoyed it on the whole, the season willbe seen as just the reality check that the club needed as we emerge, phoenix like, from the flames of previous mistakes and misery.PersonallyI am enjoying my football again, and thats what its all about, theresno fun in paying good money to be made miserable every Saturdayafternoon ( and well into the week if we have been tonked, ask mygirlfriend, if we get beat she "gives me some space" lol)Sureall the moaning old minnies (you know who you are) will carp on aboutit being the third division and will blab on about our past glories(Which we criticize our blue scum down the road for) but this is wherewe are, the situation we are in, and from what I can see so far we''remaking the best of it.I wasn''t posting on here last season, soyou won''t find my posts lol, I gave up on this place for a few yearswhen it became a ridiculous circus of "Worthy out, Worthy in, Happy clappers, Deliaout, Roeder out" etc etc etc.

I mean, get a grip will yer !

bloodwagon 0 Posted February 11, 2010 To be honest, I think its done us good to be down here in the old 3 rd division. We got rid of the crap and some of the high wages that got us down here and got in better replacements. Also we are winning games (its been a long time ).Just a shame we got the manager we should have had 3 seasons too late, then again better late than never.so yes, i`m glad we dropped down here so we can start again afresh to build the team up again, who knows we just might go on to bigger and better things from here, that''s the thing about football, you never know, but are always hoping. Hope McNally can give Lambert all support he needs to establish us back in the Championship.

Got rid of Doomy and IMHO that was always gonna be a good thing. [:)]

Beauseant 0 Posted February 11, 2010 Ultimately as a fan you want to see your side winning and playing entertaining football.Which league that is happening in is of secondary importance. This year we have seen some brilliant football and some excellent games at Carra (Millwall, Huddersfield .and for absolute edge of your seat excitement, Brentford). I''m happy enough, particularly given the off field progress.

Both have changed dramatically over this period, you would expect most people to react to the situation as they see it at the time. Our inconsistencies are what make us human. BlyBlyBabes 0 Posted February 11, 2010 Perspective? The philosophy of perspectivism promotes the theory that the knowledge of a subject is inevitably partial and limited by the individual vantage point from which it is viewed. And the practice of perspectivism is the practice of regarding or analysing a situation from different points of view. The OP is naturally made from a particular perspective but, I suspect, wishes us other posters to view the situation of our club from one point of view rather than various points of view. Hmmm.OTBC
nutty nigel 7,902 Posted February 11, 2010 Not wanting to get bogged down by this too much because i know where it will end up. But what Babes is saying is pretty much spot on. He and I will always view the club from a different perspective because we get different things from it. So where as I can enjoy the football and the results in League One despite the status of being there our friend Babes doesn''t have that perspective in his locker. I wouldn''t mind betting the lower we drop the less media coverage he can enjoy. So he for one is no better off winning in League One than losing in the Champs because none of the advantages go his way.
