Gunn can now enter the real world

Recommended Posts

I can''t for the life of me understand all this anti Gunn rubbish - I can only assume that it''s being posted by people who are either thick, have a nasty streak that doesn''t belong on this forum, are too young to realise what an asset he''s been to this club despite the perceived managerial shortcomings, or all three. Lay off the guy & find something really worth criticising.

Canaryfan7 / Barclay seats have been on several times spouting unnecessary anti Gunn rubbish (basically very tedious and insulting). I can only assume that: 1) it is the same idiot. 2) it is a binner. I cannot imagine any Canary fan worthy of the name would go on about Gunn in this way. Yes, he couldn''t manage the team, but this character assassination is just in very poor taste.

I fully agree with the post from Canaryfan7. I think the reason for this post is that they are so relieved, like me,that Gunn has gone. Gunn has been paid well, for ALL he has done. I have also heard that he and his wife were paid for their charity work. Whilst Gunn may have fooled some, he also, hasn''t fooled others. As in all walks of life some will be for and some against. I witnessed Gunn at the open day forum, Gunn, unlike Doncaster, did not handle the angry vocal fans very well, in fact, his comments were very unprofessional.  McNally has obviously seen this same trait, and the rest is history  Those of you who think otherwise of Gunn are entitled to your opinion , but others are also entitled to theirs. Enough said!!

I''m not a binner, or whatever you call it. I''m just not taken in as easily as some of you. I''m not denying that Gunn has done well in his playing career. However, he was quick to remind us after our relegation defeat at Charlton that our relegation in ''95 had nothing to do with him as he was "walking round the pitch at Elland Road with a broken leg" just to make us all aware that he wasn''t involved and THAT relegation wasn''t his fault.

I guess we should leave the charity stuff out of it. However, it does annoy me that people lord him for this considering he and his wife pick up a wage for the work they do. I don''t think the Gunn''s would be too quick to admit this though.

Also, glad to read I''m not alone in what I think.

I would appreciate either you or Canaryjules providing the evidence for this as it is clearly not declared in the annual accounts lodged with the charity commission.

Failing that I suggest you retract your libelous comments very quickly.
Look, I''m not doubting Gunn has achieved things. Yes, he has been through a lot in his life (so have other people though, not just him).

Also, the charity work is great, but he and his wife are paid for it.
I would try allegedly on that unless you would care to share your factual basis for the comment. Why don''t you try being a recognised individual, lose your daughter long before you should and then surround yourself with memories of her within your career and every single penny you raise to benefit others so they do not have to suffer as yours did.Yes other people have been through a lot but unless I missed something you are not reffrering to them, only the Gunns so this is irrelevant. I could not give a godamn shit whether he has taken a wage or not as there would not be the equipment in evidence at ''your'' local hospital if not for their work along with others. I admire the man greatly for the way in which he has tackled the adversity in his life when he could so easily have chosen a different path. As a manager I did not want him appointed and am glad he has been replaced. He was not up to the job. But I would suggest that you think a little more before you spout as I pray you would never have the misfortune to endure what they had to go through in their lives.

First of all, IF I am wrong about the charity stuff then I will happily hold my hands up.

The previous poster mentioned me "spouting off" and "praying I don''t I have to go through what they had to go through" - I also pray that I never have to go through anything like that. However, that was never the issue here. Yes, it''s extremely upsetting and bad, but other people have experienced this too, not just Mr. & Mrs. Gunn.

I would never sit here and have a go at Bryan Gunn for that, why would I?

I only typed here, what I''d heard elsewhere regarding the charity work, I didn''t just here this from one person, but a several. IF it''s untrue, I''m of course sorry.

Getting back to football and Gunn''s professional career though. He has been lucky post his football career that we have been willing to pay him for so long in a bunch of nothing roles. Its time he cut ties professionally and found employment elsewhere.
