cuckoo in the nest 0 Posted November 7, 2008 In EDP Roeder article Roeder said"I''ve had some good assistants when I''ve managed before and he would be right up there with the best. If I was really pressed, I would probably say he''s the best I''ve had because he suits me as a person and I think I suit him as well because I allow him, under my umbrella, to learn to be a manager."If the number two is buzzing and Roeder is Mr Achievement why are we in this mess ? Syteanric 1 Posted November 7, 2008 because Clarke is Roeders yes man... like i have said before.. think Phil Neale to Graham Taylor when at England...i can see it now actuallyGR: "That Lupoli is rubbish isnt he?"LC "yes boss"GR "Lets sub him with Curo"LC "yes boss"GR "shall i sign some clapped out striker on loan from Wigan who''s well past it?"LC "Yes boss".Clarke was passionate as a player but lets face it Roeder will only hire someone who jumps when told....jas :)
Bury Yellow 2 Posted November 7, 2008 I fear you may be right Jas, but I hope that he has been a little, shall we say, subservient as he is very much the apprentice in this initial learning period.I think he has a bright future. He apparently is well respected in the game so let''s hope he will start to assert himself more now. He needs to in order to reel in GR and arrest some of his strange decisions!! lucky green trainers 0 Posted November 7, 2008 cos roedy had a p**s poor budget to play with, and gambled on signing some loaned prem/champs inbetweenies - some with baggage and suspect fitness/injury records who haven''t performed as hoped,,,also hooley struggling to find form, and bell and doc only just getting fit...hopefully, burnley''s performance was our seasons low point, and we can push on from there - vowing never to plum those disppointing depths again...if our squad performs to the level of their ability, we should comfortably make mid-table...but we are underperforming individually and collectively too often to date - the table don''t lie,,,
