Lincs CR 0 Posted August 2, 2008 Firstly, why on earth is Pattison even allowed to wear a Norwich kit, he was officially terrible tonight and most of the crowd breathed easy when they announced Croft replaced him at half time. Also, why does Glenn persistently play him in every other position apart from where he is MEANT to play which is on the left side. Today he played wide right, every single bloody time Marshall thought fast and threw the ball out to put Colchester on the back foot, Pattison jogged, well... more or less walked the ball to half way, then passed it back to the defenders and we were back to square one. He cost us first half big time when it comes to possession and keeping the ball. Croft came on, took on the defender every time and contributed to most of our attacking chances. Pattison contributed to... well, he didn''t really contribute at all.He produced no worthwhile crosses, he beat the defender once thanks to three other team mates working with him in a passing move (he then lost the ball), most of his passing went backwards... he REALLY is terrible!I would much rather have seen Chadwick or Croft start the game on the right, why bother having two right wingers on the bench and a donkey on the pitch!? At least if we started with Chadders on the right wing its a player who may well feature there in league games.Sorry... rant over!
can u sit down please 0 Posted August 2, 2008 Lay off! He was out of position, "please boss, dont play me there!" I made note of Pattisons first misplaced pass....19m34s,Not criminal is it? The 2nd arrived a minute later when he tried to thread Curo through. FACT!The one moment which summed him up for me was when Marshall set him free, 1 v 1 with the full back. Clearly lacking confidence Patty checked and waited for support. Lets back the guy no matter how poor he is FFS! The boo''s when the line ups were announced prob didnt help.(if you didnt hear it then fine, it was the minority but i heard it in the Jarrold from the Riverend)Early doors he did well. He put the cross in for Curo when Gerkin made the impressive save. Linked up with Clingan and Lupoli with smart interchanges. The guy is the new scapegoat, he did nothing wrong of note today. No worse than Croft when he came on.Come to think of it...no worse than anyone! can u sit down please 0 Posted August 2, 2008 Do you understand Sport Psychology? Everything you are describing is lack of confidence otherwise known as "Performance Anxiety" which translates to a fear of making mistakes......passing sideways/backwards and playing it simple.Players like him need backing. Is it any wonder his best performance came when all the crowd were behind him just after the drink driving thing?
Mr. Bump 0 Posted August 2, 2008 I didn''t go to the game today Neil, but I feel everything you say "CUSDP" is spot on. I don''t like the guy I think he''s a waste of space. But I''m not Glenn, if he is picked for the starting eleven then he needs encouragement. If he got jeered then that is ridiculous.

can u sit down please 0 Posted August 2, 2008 A really gd book is (people may take the proverbial here) Sven Goran Erikkson on football. He co wrote it with norwegian psychologist Willi Railo. It really simplifies the factors that affect sporting performance, with the biggest one being "the fear of failure".Its something that really interests me and has helped my own performance no end. After gaining an understanding you will understand why managers often refer to mental strength........ Backwards/sidewards, making the easy option.I once tried explaining this to my mate...he like you lot laughed until he read the book. I suspect Mr Black will be working with Mr Patty. Lincs CR 0 Posted August 2, 2008 CUSDP - Don''t recommend the book to us on here, recommend it for Glenn and the Patty himself so he can sort himself out! This lad can only go on the way he is for so long, then sorry but he''s gotta be dropped
Yellowfuture 71 Posted August 2, 2008
Booing players isn''t going to give them any confidence, why can''t people understand that?
I am well aware that for some reason fans at Carrow Road seem to have a need to find a scapegoat player, I am not one of those, but no doubt Patterson is going to end up as the whipping boy next seasson unless he can find some form.He was poor against Spurs, together with many others but to be honest today he looked like a pub team player, a bit harsh I know with his track record, but that`s what I thought. He must be 10 pounds overweight, looked slow, passing was hesitant and invariably backwards, missed oppertunities to make runs intro the box, first touch was poor and frankly he should not have been on the pitch. There is clearly something wrong with him and if GR persists in playing him he is doing the guy no favours. To be booing him today was a disgrace, there was a bit but not much, unfortunately I fear it will get worse unless there is some dramatic change.
Faded Jaded Semi Plastic SOB 1,234 Posted August 2, 2008 WAY49 - Anybody on this thread condoned the booing of players?, of course not, so wind your neck in. CUSDP - I was having a bit of fun with you, as an oldie the quote by the late great Bill Shankly about football being a simple game sprang to mind, the term "Sports Anxiety" had me wondering what the great man would have to say about that particular phrase.... I hope for Mr Pattisons sake "Sports Anxiety" does not manifest itself in other areas of hi life, if you know what I mean[;)]

renegade tootsie 0 Posted August 2, 2008 Utter tosh. He was good for two games, got a contract and got worse ever since. I remember the drkin-driving game and he was barely adequate.
