Carlos Valderrama 0 Posted January 31, 2008 Competition for places. Keeps Lee Croft on his toes, 2 lads fighting for the other wing. Possibly frees up Darren Huckerby for a strikers role.

Old Boy 0 Posted January 31, 2008 GR possibly feels that the strikers we have need better service. I agree with that - we need to get the ball to them earlier and stop them having to go and search for it. How many times have we seen Cureton putting in all the effort, but too far from the box to be the threat he should be. Having said, that, they''ve all missed too many good chances. we8wba 0 Posted January 31, 2008
Why Not Two Strikers thats wat we need!
you need wingers to create goals, wolves proved that, without creating clear cut chances they wont score. wingers are as much essential than strikers nowadays
Road to Nowhere 0 Posted January 31, 2008 Despite what people are now saying we are not going up this year and splashing £2/3 million (if we even have that) with a rushed buy to appease supporters will not do us any good at all. We need to completely secure our place in the Championship which I''m sure we will do with the current squad and bringing in some hungry youngsters is clearly more sensible.Don''t get me wrong, I would like to see some permanent good players being signed but everytihng is completely overinflated in January and Glenn will have more time in the Summer to bring the likes of Taylor and another striker rather than a panic buy now. People have lost sight of where we were only 6 weeks ago.

Why has everyone been banging on about Taylor on this board for the last 3 weeks then?
Lincs CR 0 Posted January 31, 2008 To be honest....i dont see why everyone is begging to bring in a new front man. Were 10 games unbeaten...and creeping further and further away from that relegation zone, what more can we ask from Roeder. In a relegation battle we need to stop the goals going against us, not always focus on getting them ourselves.Good moves by Roeder, our service at times has been poor, but hes slowly turning that around. Totally agree what people saying about adds competition for places, Croft cant get too settled or he''ll just lack in performance, excellent loan deals. kick it off 2,062 Posted January 31, 2008 We didnt need a CB? or cover for Semi? or a Left Winger (considering Hucks'' form and competition for that spot)? How about a creative CM which is Gibbs favoured position? I''d say they were four positions we desperately needed, i think we will sign a striker on a perm tonight, but i think it will be between 11 and midnight...Btw i have no info, just hazarding a guess. kick it off 2,062 Posted January 31, 2008 Actually Younguns reports he is a left winger too. I was fairly sure he is a left sided creative CM. Can anyone clear this up?

Can anyone clear this up?
Thats right, he''s an left sided attacking midfielder/winger. Gives us options.I''m feeling confident Glenn is making the right choices with these youngsters. We''re covered in all areas now as long as we get a decent striker tonight.
