We leak the news that we bid big money for a named striker and Centre Back and what happens?

We end up with Billy No Name loans.

Sounds familiar?

Sounds very familiar, keep the fans happy cos we are at least bidding and then we end up with nothing and the money evaporates!  Hope we are all wrong though, there is still 5 hours left!

So are you saying then that just because you don''t know these loanees, who happen to have bright future''s ahead of them, you think they''re going to be rubbish or something?

And who''s to say that another deal or two, whether they be permanent(s) or loan(s), doesn''t go through by midnight or just after?

Just remember before your next moan that it''s Roeder who is keen on bringing these players here, whoever they are. Can you not see what Roeder is trying to do? Have you not read Rudolph''s post in another thread yet? Not done too badly since he''s been here has he??

Irrelevant BMC.

Nobody hopes the loan boys turn out o.k. more than me.

But if they do turn out to be top players they will simply go back to their respective clubs.

We have just become a shop window and test bed for other clubs players.

If that satisfies the rest of you then so be it, but it doesn''t satisfy me.

Loanees, I don''t mind whether they are permanent or not. No point in paying over inflated prices for players if loanees can do the job. Loanees are afer all players and players are what we need. The benefits of loanees for their clubs and ours has been gone into elsewhere on this Forum. Glenn is no mug, unlike some fans and supporters on this Forum.

how do you know they have big futures ahead, many a prem reservist has been stated as being the next best thing but turned out to be utter pants. the point there trying to make is that apparantly roeder was to be backed in the market and nothing happens except loans, so weres the 750000 that had apparantly been offered for tiny gone then, surely if we didnt spend it on tiny we wouldve spent it on a viable quality long term option

lets hope we keep the 750k and the rest til the summer. whats the point of frittering it away now mid-season? he''s obviously got a good enough squad to stay up, bolstered it with a few loanees for now and can keep the cash back for summer rather than panic in right now.

No it is not irrelevant as you have no evidence whatsoever to back your post up and say, for definite, that if they do definitely turn out to be top players then they will automatically be heading back to their clubs, just as I have no evidence to say that they will definitely be signing on permanent deals or more loan spells with us.

And if we continue to be a shop window and test bed for other young talent, such as the possiblity of more talented Arsenal youngsters then count me in. It''s not as if it''s going to stop us from bringing in good players on permanent deals is it?

Now, are you going to attempt to answer my questions or you just simply going to ignore them?

I thought I had answered your questions BMC.

Yes I remain hopeful of another signing before midnight and yes I applaud what Glen has done.

Unless something happens in the next few hours then the situation remains that we are in the transfer market to make money and not to invest in the permanent playing staff.

I am glad that many of you are happy with business thats been done so far. I beg to remain sceptical. Tiny or a new striker would go a long way to changing my mind.

Well I''m not going to question the judgements of Wenger, Coppell, Roeder or Southgate, are you? I think they know a little bit more about football than you, me and a damn sight more other people on this forum, don''t you?

And for all we know, Roeder might well have decided to keep that money back until the summer transfer window where it''s easier to do business.

While we''re all entitled to our opinions, none of us are in a position to question the judgements of the managers that I''ve mentioned.

Especially not Roeder.

Obviously loanees are not the ideal solution but we have to make the best of a bad situation. We all know (I hope) by now why there''s no tidy sums of money available for permanent signings at this point in time, but on paper they look to be quality kids who can add cover to the squad for the rest of the season.

Perhaps we can turn a couple of them into permies come next May.
