Allen

Recommended Posts

Martin Allen said he''d have walked to Norwich for the job. He left his holiday early for a second interview. I guess only time will tell if we''d made the right decision. he sounded very keen.

I really don''t know if Allen would have been the right choice for our football club. We need a calming influence at the moment as the players rae obviously lacking in confidence after a year of slaggigs from Grant.

Anyway, what is really so good about Martin Allen. If not for a few wins in the FA Cup no one would be talking about him. It''s only because Brentford won the odd FA Cup game - thus giving him media exposure on BBC - that he has a higher profile than most lower league managers. Let''s not forget that he failed in the play offs on more than one occassion and, worst of all, MK Dons were the only relegated team to fail to win promotion from League Two last season despite having a far bigger budget than Swindon, Hartlepool and Walsall...

Roeder is a much better choice than Allen in my books..............

Great record at other clubs, but certainly not the type of manager our dour Board would hire.

Just for the sake of an opinion... imagine the board were tied between Allen and Roeder and much to our dismay they called you to make the casting vote... which candidate would have had to live with the weight of CJF expectation?

what the expectation not to be a total utter buffoon like Grant and Duffy?

Having seen Roeders failure at all his previous clubs I would have given the job to Martin Allen.

having said that I hope I am proved very wrong and Roeder becomes a legend for us.

Allen is a shouter, a pointer and an old-school, sheepskin-coat manager.

Just check with Brentford fans about how they feel about Martin Allen - half of one side of my family are Brentford through and through, and they can''t stand him!
