Lets Wait and See!!!!! (PLEASE!!!!)

Recommended Posts

All these discussions about a lack of ambition and we haven''t got money etc and we have to sell to but is beginning to annoy me. At the end of the day, this has been and could be discussed untill were blue in the face but yet getting no further.

I have been told be a reliable source that the Turners HAVE put a transfer kitty in place, which is NOTHING to do with potential player sales, and i am not the only oneon here to have been told this information. It is credible and makes sense considering the Turner''s Ambition, (which cannot be questioned!!!) and their finances.

I''m getting fed up with all this negativity, only time will tell, and i hope / think that some of you will be pleasently suprised.

unfortunatly dude some people round here arn''t happy unless they''re finding negatives in what the club is doing, Wiz''s "not more jocks" topic is proof of this... people were saying how they want us to be active in the transfer marker asap... this happens but the same people who wanted it to happen then complain that those players are scottish... you just can''t please some people.

Don''t forget the same people are also complaining about the fact that we have made a bid for the football league''s leading goalscorer last year..........

I don''t think they are now are they STEVIE?

More like my point is that Sharp and Varney were both being lined up as cheap replacements for a departing Earnie... and that we were never likely to get any of them when we are selling our best player...

Have you just not realised yet in all your years of watching football what kind of message a club selling their best player sends out to future potential signings???

I totally agree, If other players see Earnshaw leave, that sends a clear message of no premiership aspirations, I do also think (although maybe I am being too cynical!) that the bids for Varney and Sharp were smokescreens, bids made by the club to make the fans happy, but Norwich knew that they were never in any danger of landing these players as more attractive clubs were definately interested. And when Earnie goes we will hear "we tried to sign these players"....but had to settle with another Brown type striker!

I really hope I am wrong and we have Earnie and Sharp next year, but I really can''t see either happening.

Smudger, mate, we don''t agree on some things but I have to concur with you 100% on that point.

Is it a case of get them in THEN sell Earnie? On the basis of if we sold Earnie then tried to sell them, they wouldn''t be interested. Selling decent players makes a mockery of any club approaching a player and saying "we''re ambitious", certainly someone like Sharp would, on hearing of Norwich interest, think "it might be good to play alongside someone like Robert Earnshaw, we''d score loads between us and have a great chance of going up", however, if we sold him then tried to get someone like Sharp-well, thats just a tadge negative, like for like, maybe trying to maintain the status quo, rather than progress?

Smudger makes a good point Arsenal are losing players not buying in, Henry not happy bunny, lack of ambition, ticks everyone off.

Absolutely... we were an attractive club 2 years ago and even could of been this time last year and again right now if only we had shown some ambition and approached things in the right way then...

Now we have a host of clubs still benefiting from parachute payments or recent investments that are a more attractive proposition than ourselves... inc - Charlton, Sheff Utd, Watford, Wolves, Leicester, West Brom... and even other clubs like Southampton and Sheff Weds are making far better noises to potential signings than ourselves...

That is 8 clubs that are in all liklihood going to finish above us next season...

Our boardroom have made al the wrong kind of noises for far too long now... we find ourselves about where we were when they took over when it comes to attracting players to the club and it will be extremely difficult to reverse this trend over a matter of months....

Basically the board have done to themselves what they did to Worthy...

They have given themselves a big long rope and the prospect is that this coming season they are probably going to swing from it!!!!

i''m sure - if i could be bothered - there were similar pleas for patience last summer and where did that get us? Last summer''s investment in the playing squad was shameful. Some people don''t want to wait until Sept 1st only to be disappointed. Let''s have some action now - and I don''t mean half-hearted bids designed to kid the supporters.

Yes we wait and wait ... we still have almost all our players (about 25 !)  that were so poor for most of last season (admit it) ...but we wait and wait ..two offers turned down (Celtic & Dundee) ... we wait and wait .... and yes a new youth setup ... we wait and wait ... and yes two new scoreboards ... we wait and wait ... and yes Bentley still tired from the Fulham game ... but we wait and wait ... and still no more quality pre-season matches added ... we wait and wait ... and in a few weeks time the new fixture list will be published ... but we wait and wait ... money enough (?) .... but no new players ... but we wait and wait ... am I getting a Scottish accent ? .... we wait and wait ... still feeling confident ... ????? ..... we wait and wait ..... I can''t wait ... !!!!

I am still remaining positive and that the noise I have heard about investment are true.  If we spend half a million closed season then I will probably stack my three-piece in the street and man the barricade myself...

It looks to me any quality player we manage to sign don''t hang around too long? Maybe its that "Poor little Norwich" mentality the board (NCPLC) is always putting out makes them look for a club with real ambition. Are we only going for players who the club knows they wont or cant get just to say "we tried"

Tartan how long have we to wait to NCPLC put their ambition on the FOOTBALL pitch????

FOOTBALL MUST COME FIRST
