PG will not be sacked, because...

Recommended Posts

For anyone to think that PG will be sacked is unrealistic. (This is not a post slamming the Pg our brigade).

No board in their right mind in our finacial position would even consider sacking 2 managers in 1 season, it just isn''t possible when you''re 18 million in debt.

Not only this, but our board stuck with NW to the bitter end, and this sets a trend. Why would Delia consider sacking PG after 3 months, when they gave NW a year more than what he should have had?

Sacking PG would cost us thousands, probably more than what it did to get shot of Nigel. Quite frankly, I''d rather see that money spent on new players.

And say we did sack him, who is there to replace him- on the cheap? The only person I can think of is Ian Dowie, and I''m not a big fan of his.

So please, stop bashing Grant, as he won''t get sacked until he has had a chance to bring in his own players, and make his mark on the side. If at xmas we are still in this position, then start bashing him, but he IS NOT  going to get sacked now, so forget it you permantly negatives!

And charlton (without curbishley) are such a good team to emulate.

Don''t go on about the years in the prem, these were accoumplished with

(a)  Curbishley''s tactical brilliance and loyalty, also (b)

selling their best players. this is something that you (a) have to be

exceedingly lucky to get from a manager - it can''t be brought as any

manager who has proved he has these qualities will stay where he is.

Also (b) most of this board would go mad if you did this.

Their board especially was never genourous in their backing of

Curbishley, most transfer money came from selling other players. That

they have the squad they have is testiment to curbs skills at improving

players.

The board appointed the wrong person and should have the B*llocks to admit they made a mistake. Yes i''d rather see the money spent on players but give it to grant to buy more donkeys is not an option. Of course I could always sit on the fence like you whilst the club sinks further to relegation......... but I won''t.SACK GRANT NOW

I don''t want to see him sacked but if we start getting dragged into a reklegation battle then it may be the only way forward.  Some of our players form has nosedived since Grants honeymoon period.  This gives the impression some may not be responding well to his critisize,  critisize, critisize approach to management.

PG was offered the job knowing full well the cash he has and the perameters he has to work within. For these reasons the board will not sack him as they in part are responsible for the poor performances by not giving PG the tools to achieve the results.

The package on offer to our new manager was such that peanuts and monkeys come to mind.

Lacking ambition in the appointment = accepting the consiquences for the board

what evidence do you have that Grant would buy donkeys? To my knowledge he''s bought Chadwick (probably a good purchase) and Brown (who know''s but at that price probably worth a gamble), maybe not the stars we would all like but probably not donkeys either.
