Troy Tempest 0 Posted November 23, 2006 Will Grant ring the changes in the light of the latest no-show at Ipswich?Expect him to stick with the same, less Chadwick, and trot out that time honoured line of wanting to give the players the chance to put things right. How will you react to this? Is the necessity for points such that you would play safe too and field experience or would you gamble on bringing in our only options for change.....youth?I wouldn''t be surprised to see the same formation either; although I want to see us go more on the front foot at home.Personally, Eagle should get his home debut, Hucks should go up front, Dublin should replace Doherty and we should play 4-4-2. The real difficulty is choosing someone to play on the right and with few options I would go for McVeigh. Etuhu and Safri in the centre. However, as I said, I expect Grant to go with the same and note that whenever Grant has tried to significantly tinker it has blown up in his face although that IMO is because he has also failed to stick with his ''horses for courses'' mantra. charlies dad 0 Posted November 23, 2006 Reading Roger Munby interview in the EDP, ''Munby reckons the players have a point to prove to the fans''. Does he really beleive that a victory over Hull will in any way, shape or form make up for that disgrace on Sunday? If thats the case, both him and our lacklustre apology for a team are seriously mistaken. I''m going to be bristling about that one for months. Only an EXCEPTIONAL run of form will make a ''point'' to me. Win the next 5 and we might be talking.
ZLF 335 Posted November 23, 2006 The harsh truth is that we have relatively few options - the problem area was the midfield on Sun and we have next to no options there.I too would go 4-4-2GallacherColin Doc Shax DruryMcVeigh Safri Etuhu Eagle Earnie HuxIf safri is not fit I cant see jarvis coming in so that means either Robbo or hughes - so robbo it is, although I can see Robbo starting in place of either McV or Eagle as a midfield with those two in looks lightweight
mbncfc 1 Posted November 23, 2006 Maybe Hull would be the start of a decent run that may make up for Sunday?Maybe it is just working yourself up by saying what you would hate to happen, and then getting angry about it, even thought it hasn''t happened... yet...Or maybe not... CD, I hope we are talking in 5 games time... [:S]
ZLF 335 Posted November 23, 2006 Given that doc is only rated 50/50 it looks like the way be being cleared for a dublin recall at the back...

Hartsons Gut 0 Posted November 23, 2006 This line-up doesnt even have Hughes and Robinson in it and we have injuries.Hughes and Robinson, you are over. Time for youth to shine. I think this is a much stronger line-up than Sunday. Salopian 1 Posted November 23, 2006 I assume that P.G. wants to stick with the "tried and tested", so until a play-off place becomes utterly remote and relegation equally so, I would be surprised if any younger faces will appear, except possibly on the bench. So, if he sticks to experience, we might just see McV to replace Chadwick, Dion to replace Doc. If Hux is fit, then perhaps he will be in the 5 of a 4-5-1, or else up front with Ernie in 4-4-2, or does it really make much difference between these? If he is not fit, and from all accounts he seemed a little laboured at times last Sunday, then perhaps Eagle may start. There are so many permutations, but I would expect to see a bench of Camp, Doherty, Eagle, Hughes, and Thorne. (These would offer some sort of cover for most positions in the team.)A few changes as compared with Ipswich, but unless PG wants to be radical the above would seem to reflect his selections so far. San Miguel 0 Posted November 23, 2006 I say drop Drury, or Dreary as I call him lately Play Dublin and Doc in the centre with Shacks on the left - I know its not ideal but it can''t be much worse than the disorganised lazy thoughtless display last Sunday by the defence.
