What's Everyone Truck with the Board?

Recommended Posts

Just wondering?

Is it just for not sacking Worthy earlier than they are going to?

Or is it for running the club to break even rather than at a loss.

I just don''t understand the flak Delia, Doncaster get I feel they do a ok job, the club is stable off the pitch and money is available for transfers...

Its mainly about  who the fans  think is responsible for  the poor performances on the field !  I can see why Nigel gets it , he`s the manager !    but sniping at Delia ?  that baffles me !

It''s quite simple really. The board flew in the face of popular opinion. They kept Worthington as manager, when only a few nutters wanted to keep him. Having ignored their customers wishes, they then pulled the carpet out from under Worthingtons feet, by sabotaging his transfer moves, effectively weakening an already poor squad. We were promised by Munby that there would be no repeat of last seasons shameful performance, by the boards actions since May, they have virtually guaranteed a worse performance. Even now, they are unable to back or sack him, preferring to flick, fart and of course, fanny about, while the parachute money goes a-wasting.

I think its mostly for the delay in taking action over Worthy.  We (the fans) tried to point out to them last season that Worthy was n''t up to the job in particular his tactics and signings and only now have they seemed to take any sort of action in support of the fans.

The board have up until now defended Worthy and backed him to the hilt with spin and together with this summer''s lack of signings have put them in the frame as they have not done more to get players to come to Carrow Road despite telling us they were working hard to get people to come here.

A lack of ambition in leading Worthington to come out last weekend and say ''I don''t feel any pressure'' which translates to a comfort zone at Colney.  A bit more ruthlessness, backbone and honestly to the supporters and yes Delia and the rest would enjoy more respect.

The non-football enterprises are good and I am sure the club is secure financially for the future, but our primary product - ie the football, needs to be the number one concern for Delia and at times I don''t think that is.

At the present moment Ulf, it''s about Delia issuing a highly ambiguous statement containing veiled threats to the manager''s position, and then retreating into the shadows while all hell breaks loose.

In general it''s about a chronic lack of leadership and drive in the boardroom, and an overconcentration on "other projects" at the expense of football.  I''m no longer prepared to accept their bland assurances that these projects will provide income for the club. I''m a shareholder, and I wrote to them nearly two weeks ago requesting disclosure of the amount of profit the club makes from the catering project.  I have yet to receive an acknowledgement.

Breaking even is not the real issue, it''s the rising level of debt since the club took out a massive loan in 2003/4, and the constant drain on our limited income caused by servicing this debt (currently nearly £20m).  Even though we''re supposed to be financially stable, we have many of the symptoms of a club in trouble.

Some of are becoming genuinely concerned about the future of our club, regardless of whether Worthy stays or goes.

At this point i''m going to give credit to the binners.  I''m sorry, it has to be done.

Joe Royle was a good servant to their club who had a bad season last season, they finished 15th.  I don''t remember seeing their fans on local news on the march, they simply got to the end of the season, the league position wasn''t good enough, so he left without much of a fuss.

This board should either back or sack their manager, and if they sack him, it should be according to the terms on his contract, it shouldn''t be a public ousting in the manner that Sunday may well take.

A coup is safer than a revolution, no ?

For me it''s all about honesty and integrity.

Norfolk people are not greedy or intolerant by nature. We are fair minded, loyal and steadfast........but woe betide those who would treat us like fools.

The current set-up is devoid of honesty and lacking in genuine ambition. By ambition I do not mean ''top 6 in the Premiership''.......I mean 100% effort by the players we can afford.......and removal of those at any level who do not share club values. A look at Watford under Boothroyd shows guts and character. They may well come down again, but they will be able to feel they gave it their best shot. Norwich in the Premiership? We were a bunch of small time Charlies looking up at the big boys with Delia gloating in the directors box at Anfield, Old Trafford etc...... saying "well...we are only a little club". Have you heard the Watford directors say that? No.....they are totally anonymous, just as they should be.

Back to basics is what we need......and we need it fast. Bring back the guts...........

I don''t remember Joe Royle spending 3.5 million in January?  In fact didnt they lose Darren Bent, Shefki Kuqi and Tommy Miller (50 goals of players) in teh summer? and spend 300K to replace them.
