Flyin High 0 Posted April 16, 2004 Colin Lee has parted company with Walsall, along with first team coach Paul Bracewell.Paul Merson will now be in charge of the game on Saturday.Good news for us??? I''m not so sure!
A pompey yellowandgreen 0 Posted April 16, 2004 thats a good thing cos merson spends all his time down the bookies. 5-0 to city.
Cantley 0 Posted April 16, 2004 That''s my chant out the window then..This is definitely bad news. Teams in this situation always pull together and play out of their skins.
a1canary 0 Posted April 16, 2004 Often true fool, but in this case, perhaps not. Colin Lee and Paul Bracewell are an excellent managing/coaching team and their departure is a massive blow for them. Paul Merson has zero managing/coaching/motivational training and no number two, as yet, to help him. Behind every good manager there''s a good number 2 as well we know (Foley/Livermore) like Bracewell for Walsall. Getting them up for the game will be really tough and i would tip them to join Bradford and Wimbledon now. Paul Merson may have plenty of playing experience and you would have thought that someone like him or his mate Tony Adams would make a great manager but his first steps down at Wycombe have been wobbly to say the least. I think they''re down to div 3 already aren''t they? Perhaps someone could confirm?Personally, i''d go with 3-0 city on Saturday.
Dirty Lyle 0 Posted April 16, 2004 Makes no difference to us. As Nige keeps saying its our performance that counts. They still have the same group of players they had this morning.Lee or Merson, we are top of the league the opposition is irrelevant.
Dr. Jonathan Zizmor 0 Posted April 16, 2004 Simon Osborn is his number two
Tacklebury 0 Posted April 16, 2004 Tony Adams and Wycombe got relegated this week, after initially miscalculating how many points they needed to survive!! Oh well, as has been said on this thread, they''re still the same bunch of players, and we''re still the best team in the league - so unless we have an off day, I can''t see us losing this one. It''s in our hands! OTBC
