Have we realy turned we Corner?

Recommended Posts

Not wanting to rain on anyones parade but yes we''ve done alright so far this season. But we''ve played 5 won all our home games and draw one  and lost one away. Least we forget that we won 6/7 at home at the end of last season and still could''nt buy a win away from home.

Personally I''ll wait until our next two away games before any judgement is made on whether we are back.

The real test is the next two games

I agree, although any spannr could hit the works at anytime, all being well the next two games will help to show if we are going to do okay, based on home form and the odd away draw or if we have something more about us to go on and challenge.

As always stated and a general consensus. Lets give it ten games and see where we are.

The problem is that we could give it 20 games with our thin squad and if luck deserts us with injuries then we will be screwed good and proper.

I know we have the January window, but we are not going to sign three or four players to see us through.

Remember, so far we have been extreemly lucky with injuries. A far cry from last season.

Interestingly its those who want to pin the success on Hunter that started suggesting that we''ve turned the corner.

I always believe that the season will have highs and lows and as NCFC supporters we must all realise that we''re always two games from some kind of crisis, even after the seasons over we''ll be heading for a troubled summer and looking back at how lucky we were, its a constant worry.

Not very often I agree with ALOS but I have to on this occasion.  The only people who are claiming a corner has been turned are those who to carry on getting at Worthy by claiming it is all Hunters doing.

A corner has not been turned but we have made a great start - at this point last time out we had 3 points from 4 home games and 1 away.  Lets just be happy with that for now and see what happens.  At least we started our season in August this time not mid September when we got our first win last year.

Tomorrow should be very interesting - on the one hand we''re going to a

place that has become something of a "fortress" for Coventry, and we

are a team with a poor away record.  But on the other hand, we''re

on a great run of form, have kept the same starting XI since the first

game of the season, and there''s also the added "prize" of wiping the

smile of Leon''s face. (I doubt all the player''s feel this desire, but

maybe some of the "newbies" like Croft and Earnie, who may not know

Leon that well, will?)

With the interruption of the International Farce - sorry, I mean break

- tomorrow could almost be "make-or-break" for the season.

Continue where we left off, or drift back into obscurity.  My

money is on the former...

We are treading on thin ice with our current undersized squad. It needs sorting quickly if we are to continue this excellent form and it will be nothing short of a miracle if we avoid any injuries/suspensions. But having said that assuming we strengthen the squad correctly I see no reason why this should be an excellent season for us.

We should be looking for four points over the next two games. Barnsley was great but promotion will be about grinding out results at cruddy places like Roots Hall.

The team looks settled and I hope it stays that way. If you look back to the season''s when we have gone up it is when we have fielded roughly the same eleven for each game.

There''s been many reasons why we have had to keep chopping and changing but it does look now as if the same eleven will be the first ones named.

Cracking news about Lee Camp. It could well have been that we would have signed some aging keeper(Tracey!) to fill in while we find a suitable second keeper. Bringing in someone of Camp''s quality and potential signals yet a positive (and long term) view being taken. Wouldn''t surprise me if the club didn''t reverse this policy with a striker and bring in someone like Teddy Sheringham who could do the job at this level on a short term contract.
