pete 320 Posted December 5, 2023 Let us look at how 1923/4 is working out so far and what we can look foward to, and assess City's fortunes. Based on Wagner will be with us for the duration. We can do this by looking at each month so far and beyond. August City started flying with 5 wins and 1 draw and table topping results. However those wins were against teams expected to be the lesser lights of the division. The game against a fancied side was the 4-4 draw against Southampton. Those results are proving to be a template for the rest of the year. September Things start to go wrong with 7 defeats against what can be considered the better teams in the division. This run extended into October. The pattern is emerging. October/November one draw, three wins and two defeats, the positive results again against the expected team, losses to the expected teams November/December a run of 3 wins out of four following the pattern of putting the dross to the sword not so good but enough to inspire some supporters looking to a play off attempt. December 6 games that look to be 3 wins and 3 losses if the current pattern continues which seems likely. January 5 losses can be expected playing genuine play off conenders February, March, April and May there can be expected losses and defeats in equal measures. Therfore I think we can certainly say based on the evidence of results to date a play off is unlikely. Relegation is similarly an unlikely proposition. A midtable position is the best that can be achieved. But will struggling along picking up results against poorer opposition and struggling against the better teams satisfy the City support. I guess not but the finances and personnel dictate that will be City's lot..Welcome to mediocrity don't get your hopes up. Wagner OUT

shefcanary 2,446 Posted December 5, 2023 It's alright. We'll sign Percy Varco soon enough and start moving back up the table again.

......and Smith must score. 1,359 Posted December 5, 2023 I would say it’s a nailed-on certainty we won’t make the Play Offs and Mr Wagner will get the heave-ho in 1939.
