nevermind, neoliberalism has had it

Has the world gone mad?

EU vice president Margaritis Schinas, three days after Recip  T. Erdogan offered to host peace talks between Israel and Hamas, he put Turkiey on the spot, asking it to stand either with NATO and the 'ethos of the west' or site with Russia and Hamas.

When was an offer to hold peace talks ever be answered with a blackmail answer. Is this the EU we want to go back to? were unelected von der Leyen runs the right wing roost of war mongers.

The EU isn't in the war. Only Israel and Palestine are. Anyone can offer to hold peace talks, but it's a waste of breath unless both sides are prepared to entertain the idea. You can lead a horse to water, but you can't make it drink.

The sole raison d’être of Hamas is to annihilate Israel.  Peace talks would achieve nothing of any lasting value.  Even if a ceasefire was agreed, it would only be a short time before Hamas restarted their hostilities with the inevitable and justifiable backlash from Israel.  Make no mistake, Israel is in a war of survival against terrorists backed by Iran, and it really doesn’t help when useful idiots on the left seem to side with the hate-filled Islamofascists who hate us just as much as they do the Israelis.  For its long-term survival, Israel rightly now considers that the complete removal of Hamas is the only sensible option, however unpalatable that might be.

For every one they kill, 5 more will pick up weapons. They are just adding fuel to the fire.

again you are promoting something Hamas never said, a lie invented by the rogue state to make you accept their actions. Hamas was created by Israel in the 1970's to divide the palestinins and the PLO, and it never had any crux with Iran.

So just do nothing? When do you say enough is enough? How many killings is one too many that you react? How many rapes before you say enough is enough?

By the same token, how many Palestinians have to lose their livelihoods and land due to illegal invaders, abetted by the Israeli regime, before Palestinians say "enough is enough"?

It is a war. Hamas made it a war. And the war will continue until the last terrorist is dead or captured. BTW, how do you feel about the people of Caen who died after being bombed by the Allies in WW2? Or the slave labourers working on the V2 and other projects who also were bombed by the Allies? War stinks and bad things happen. But if victory against evil means long-term peace then those deaths are a price we have to pay.

More to the point, when they do say 'enough is enough', do they actually finally start pursuing a peaceful solution proposing reasonable terms that don't include the annihilation of Israel?
