The Raptor 1,248 Posted September 11, 2023 It's a shame they cramed all the games into the weekend and there isn't now one till Thursday. I generally like big sporting events as there's something to watch everyday poor planning for this I feel. I've got the day off and was looking forward to watching some random rugby. Sadly it wasn't to be.

Very good. I hope my own double entendre for tackle was equally groanworthy

They wouldn’t, because of course they don’t have to, each set of athletes have body types and training to suit their own specialism And the jibes cut both ways. Noticed the title of the thread? That is why I said comparison is unwise.
Foxy2600 305 Posted September 14, 2023 Watching France vs Uruguay As an ex-RFU referee, the yellow card for the French Forward using a loose shoulder to poleaxe the Uruguayan No.9 was a red … as it was for the England game. He served 10 minutes, during which Uruguay scored a perfectly good try apart from some spotty face kid claiming a VAR obstruction. Uruguay being robbed! Uruguayan not even penalised. As you say head contact with no arm wrap and yellow only. Curry gets two matches.

Foxy2600 305 Posted September 21, 2023 ITV4 pundits admit two of the tries come from forward passes - ‘but oh well’ all acceptable- it’s France after all
Feedthewolf 4,894 Posted September 21, 2023 In that (admittedly fantastic) flowing move for the (I think?) third try, I counted three forward passes in that one alone. It's a bit embarrassing that Joy Neville can't (won't?) spot that with all the technology at her disposal. It wasn't even close.

Most ball carriers lead with the shoulder when approaching a tackler. They can't wrap they are holding the ball. A tackler gets penalised if he doesn't wrap.
