We had the money to sign Hamer last season, and even the season before.

I called him as a possible target at the time (based on my Cov season ticket holding cousin telling me he was worried we'd go for him), but Webber had fallen so down in his recruitment abilities that even I'm better than him.

Unlikely to be paying the money we'd need to entice Cov to sell him now.

£5/7m could well have got him last summer, fantastic player who works his balls off too.

Sorry, I meant the Webbers - I haven't a clue what kind of money they would draw, i.e. if we say that a well paid player is 40k/week - they couldn't possibly be near that level of pay could they?  As a player obviously is a short career that could end any given weekend.

It appears Zoe is on £14k a week. Modest by Premier League standards but probably 3 times what many Luton or Coventry players are earning. Of course you are right about the relative risks for players to include too cost of agents, contract risks, upheaval costs etc.

It does raise many questions though. Such as, if they order takeout do they argue about which dishes to get - or do they just order whatever they want and chuck the remains straight in the bin?
