Excellent one week, awful the next.

This was one of those matches where collectively we looked in the wrong frame of mind. Amateur diving to get free kicks on more than one occasion, giving the ball away cheaply on numerous occasions, bad decision making, hesitating when speed of thought or action was required.

Is it misplaced confidence?  Do we think we are better than we are after a couple of good wins? Do the players get ahead of themselves? Do we think we can dictate to an opposition when what we really need to do is battle with them or need to be a bit more patient? Maybe it's all those things, but to only produce two shots on target in a whole game at home under an attacking manager is pretty dire.

I guess if we don't get promotion this season, a rebuild will be necessary - some of the players we have look jaded and maybe even punch drunk.

I know, we will doubtless get a reaction in the next game and do better - maybe it's part of the team getting used to what the manager expects and consistency will come, but they've got to get these kinds of games - or the mentality that makes them into these kinds of games - out of their system.

Yep the inconsistency is highly frustrating. We can go toe to toe with anyone in this league apart from perhaps Burnley but we've seen performances like today far too often.

Twelve games to get it ironed out, finish in the top six and peak. Not too much too ask I'm sure  🙂

And people think we have the best squad in the division when in truth it’s very mediocre, and we now have no money for the major overhaul needed!

Our entire back 4 were awful, nothing in midfield and toothless up front.

Apart from that we were ok. What a waste of a Sunday 🤬
