SwearyCanary 1,340 Posted November 8, 2022 Just now, Myra Hawtree said: His statement today about never wanting World Cup in Qatar is unbelievable! It’s well known he wanted the USA to have it. Allegedly he and Platini had agreed they’d both vote for USA but Platini changed his mind. Must had s few million ‘good reasons’ that helped persuade him Qatar was a great choice 😂

Capt. Pants 5,008 Posted November 8, 2022 As taken from the BBC website "Blatter spent 17 years as Fifa president but was forced to step down in 2015 over allegations he unlawfully arranged a transfer of two million Swiss francs ($2.19m; £1.6m) to Platini, who was also forced to resign from his position at Fifa. He was originally banned from football by Fifa for eight years, later reduced to six, over the Platini payment. In March 2021 he then received an additional ban until 2028 for "various violations" of Fifa's code of ethics. Blatter and Platini were charged with fraud last November but were found not guilty at a trial in Switzerland in July. The decision to award the 2018 and 2022 World Cups to Russia and Qatar respectively has been dogged by accusations of widespread corruption, with two investigations launched by Swiss prosecutors and the US Department of Justice in 2015. Qatar and Russia have always denied any wrongdoing, and both were effectively cleared by Fifa's own investigation in 2017. "

TheGunnShow 7,377 Posted November 8, 2022 This is funny if it wasn't so wrong. He doesn't have a clue. If he wants people to respect his rules, have sensible rules. Not moronic nonsense possibly peddled by a monkey on a typewriter wired off its **** on crack. Moronic rules do not deserve respect, simple as that.World Cup 2022: Qatar ambassador comments on homosexuality 'harmful and unacceptable' - BBC Sport "Former Qatar international Khalid Salman told German broadcaster ZDF that LGBTQ+ people attending the tournament should "accept our rules".
