Derby will be Worthys judgement day

Recommended Posts

Well if we didn''t beat Brighton, he would have to have gone. But, we did win, so, let''s wait until saturday. If we win, let''s give him the benifit of the doubt, and give him a little longer. If we don''t win, then his time is up. It''s as simple as that. Derby are an average team who out-played us completely a few months ago. If we have ambitions of next season challenging for the premiership, it is paramount that they show sings now of being a good enough team.

Also, a message to those who were protesting outside the ground after the game last night; how can you be expected to be taken seriously about wanting Worthy out when we have just won 3-0 and you protest? we won for god''s sake, let''s be happy about that!

I''m not given Worthy the benefit of the doubt until Crystal Palace on the 25th (away) if we beat them then i''m say that Worthy has got the club back on track again

there are 3 nil wins and 3 nil wins.  Middlesboro beat (and outplayed) Chelsea 3 nil due to Astute tactics from Mclaren.  we were outplayed by a relegation threatened team with 10 men at times but got a couple of late ones.

Middlesboro''s victory inspires hope to the team and supporters.

Our victory - well if thats the only way we can get a win then so be it.

i dont think it will be. because he wont get sacked for losing. it would have to be a very long run of defeats/poor draws for him to go.

big test for him is the next 4 away games: palace, leeds, burnley and preston.

How many more final chances are we going to be give? We did beat Brighton, but our play for 80 minutes was not very good, and for much of the second half we struggled against 10 men! In the end the difference between the sides was three moments of individual skillDerby may be reviving, but they are below us. If we beat them by an odd goal, or we draw, has he passed the test? If we lose, do we blame injuries, "leaves on the line or the wrong sort of snow"? If the uninspiring, lack-lustre performance we have seen for several weeks continues, whatever the result, what is the implication?

I think the fact that people still protested last night and that "We want Worthy Out" was being sung as the ball was passed to Earnie last night are signs of how deep and irreversible the situation is.

I think it will be noticable again on Saturday with the atmosphere and unless there is a marked improvement in performance expect a major protest.

Although I was not there, protesting after a 3-0 win makes more sense than after a loss.  It shows the board that the people who are protesting are not just making a knee-jerk reaction and are basing their judgement over a longer period.  It shows they are serious and not fickle enough to change their mind after a win over relegation fodder down to 10 men.

The game last night in no way proved that we are improving or "turning a corner", it''s going to take better & regular quality performances to convince many that Worthy is capable of moving us onwards and upwards.

Sadly I dont think sat is that day - he will be here for many games to come yet as there are many fans who are swayed by a result going one way or another.   Still the end of the year for me.

He will be here for the start of next season, with a performance (ie league position) review in mid October.

Close to top 6 = stay

Out of touch like this season = bye bye and still time to catch up for a new man.

The only thing that will change this is a disastrous slump to the end of this season, alongside continually increasing levels of unrest amongst supporters.

We will however scrape enough wins/draws to ensure this doesn''t happen - giving him the summer to reflect and try again as above.

Here endeth the last prediction!

absolutely agree, saint. it shows that the fans are deadly serious about this, and 1 win where we didn''t really deserve more than 1-0 against a 10 men poor team wont sway thier/our minds. its about performances now for me, and i expect for lots others aswell.

The final score may have been 3-0 but what a load of dross. 1-0 at eighty minutes and we were matched and even outplayed by a team with ten men. With a slice more luck Brighton could have won.

The standard of football is poor. The manager wants time for the new players to bed in well the summer signings haven''t bedded in yet.Favourites abound again, players played out of position.

Lets be happy - with the standard of football played last night sorry lets get real and replace a very inefficient manager and coaching staff then many more will be happy.
