The Great Mass Debater

Onel at Number 10

Recommended Posts

Nothing to do with Downing Street - Lee Bowyer is planning on playing him as a number 10 at Birmingham

“When you have got a tricky winger that can go past full backs easy then, guess what, they are going to go past centre halves even easier. I played him up there as a ten, he can play wide, he can play in a number of positions. He won’t just play as a striker for us.”

Will be interesting to see how he does!

Thiery Henri played as a winger until Wenger started playing him in the middle.

It will be interesting to see how Onel does. He's always had a goal in him and he's got the gas for sure.

Won’t it be funny if he hits ten or more goals until the season! We’ll be calling him our new striker.

When he was in the team regularly in our first promotion season we basically played with 3 no.10's, none of them played like wingers. Onel is right footed and played on the left and always received the ball relatively central so he's played that position before quite well. What he hasn't done and what I'm not sure he's capable of is playing the usual role of being the only no.10, I don't think he's got the passing range and would instead end up playing more like a second striker which is probably what Bowyer means, I doubt he's going to suddenly start playing like Wes did for us

Don't think he's got the passing range to his game to be a good 10 but I think he could do a job playing off a target man. Bring Iwan of of retirement!
