Well I have to agree with the Arsenal supporters, Atwell is not fit to referee. The red card was only so he could retain control of a game he had lost!

Utter rubbish - that penalty was a definite, Gabriel only has himself to blame for two yellows in the space of two minutes - one for ridiculously trying to scuff up the penalty spot, I mean wtf?! - how the hell can you blame the ref for any of it?  It’s stupid players rather than poor reffing, Arsenal supporters ought to be rounding on their idiot defender rather than the officials.

I don’t disagree Branston, what I cannot really understand is why Atwell didn’t give it without being referred to var! I was a stonewalled.  The second yellow. A lot worse tackles than that during the match went unpunished and I feel the red was given for the penalty spot offence! Inconsistent refereeing from Atwell who lost control completely because of his ineptness.

I think the shirt pull was on his blind side of the ref, though - imo var actually worked well for that penalty decision and overturned an error.  There’s not one side who wouldn’t have expected it to be given, the BT pundits are desperate to make an issue that doesn’t exist.

Re: Gabriel, the utter stupidity of footballers is quite simply astonishing - they are paid a small fortune and the second yellow was thoroughly deserved after an idiotic first.

Regarding the penalty, what was the difference between the pull back on Silva compared to the one on McLean on Boxing Day? Other than the obvious that it is Man Citeh vs Little 'ol Norwich I don't see the difference
