Singa 0 Posted October 4, 2020 Leigh Griffiths out of favour at Celtic, not without his issues or demons. But remember his two goals against England so has pedigree. Comes on today and scored, his last game was March, so his goal scoring is up there with Puki. I think he would take the pressure of Puki. The last Celtic player to score 40 goals in a season was Griffiths prior to that Henrik Larsson.
TIL 1010 4,777 Posted October 4, 2020 Where would signing him put him in the pecking order in relation to Pukki, Hugill and Idah ?
Capt. Pants 4,266 Posted October 4, 2020 We've 2 strikers at the moment who don't get used to their full potential, so why get another? Edouard on the other hand!
seanthecanary 168 Posted October 5, 2020 A new a striker has to be the lowest priority in terms of recruitment for City
Yorkshire Canary 118 Posted October 5, 2020 I agree it is low on the list, we have 3 and at the moment only play one, though that could change. The performance of players from the Scottish league and doing well in England over the last 20 years has not been good, with some noteworthy exceptions like Van ****
Bonzo 198 Posted October 5, 2020 (edited) There is nothing wrong with Pukki (unless you count a preference for moulds in lieu of a proper pair of boots). The issue is extremely simple in that against Bournemouth Pukki got no shots. Zero. Against Derby Pukki got one shot (which was a penalty). Playing him as a lone striker against 5 at the back has resulted in zero shots in open play. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Prior to this he had two shots and one goal against Preston and three shots and one assist against Huddersfield. _____________________________________________________________________________________________________________ How does Pukki score if he doesn't get the chance to shoot? He's good. But he's not that good. Edited October 5, 2020 by Bonzo
Well b back 3,250 Posted October 5, 2020 I thought Griffiths had been injured, made his comeback yesterday ( 15 minutes as a sub ) scored and then Lennon said having Griffiths back was vital to Celtics season.

Pukki is good, but not fit - he played through a muscular injury on Saturday, let’s start Hugill next game and give Teemu some time off to actually get fully fit again, poor blokes had a wretched year. Idah is a more than capable deputy for Hugill too - we’re covered there.
Singa 0 Posted December 29, 2020 Today 23 chances only goal a penalty. QPR 12 chances and score from a penalty. Still think goal scoring is the issue.
