Sadly the Vietnam game seems to have been postponed, as has the Montenegrin one I was eyeing up. I have tried to make this as far-flung as possible, with eight selections and if nutty can find an extra tenner down the back of that voluminous sofa to make it up to £20... All home wins and an alert that the NZ game starts at 11pm UK time tonight I think: Aruba: Dakota to beat La Fama. Rwanda: Rayon Sports to beat Gicumbi. Brazil Women: Minas ICESP to beat Ponte Preta. New Zealand Prem: Waitakere United to beat Hawke's Bay. Hungary NB I: Ferencvaros to beat Kaposvari Rakoczi. Queensland NPL: Gold Coast Knights to beat Moreton Bay United. Algeria: MC Alger to beat Magra. Russia Prem: Zenit St Petersburg to beat Ural. The Rwandan game ended in a draw so the Gold Coast player who got himself sent off and potentially cost that us win became irrelevant. The Aruba game was postponed. The other five were wins. nutty nigel 7,534 Posted March 16, 2020 How are you PUPs doing? We got another £20 from sticker exchanges since this thread was posted so here are the latest totals.. Doesn't look like we will have much football for a while. But we all need a distraction and something we can do together. I've been thinking and not come up with much. But there's brighter and sharper minds than mine out there. Do you PUPs have any thoughts?

Kathy 733 Posted March 17, 2020 It’s a bit like heads and tails except you can hedge your bets. You get given a certain amount of money usually £1000 and a certain number of questions depending which game you choose. Once you have chosen you are given a selection of questions from which you can select one. It can be any sport. Sometimes the questions are twofold simply yes or no. Sometimes it’s will be will so and so win which means there are three possibilities because it can also be a draw so you have to work out your best strategy. You don’t have to bung it all in one outcome, you can split the pot ie £800 on yes £200 on no. Whatever’s left goes on to the next question. Obviously the braver you are the more money you likely you are to win but it’s bloody hard. I play it all the time and the most I’ve ever won is £20. it can be very frustrating. On the plus side you get lots of free goes and in theory you can win up to a million pounds if you have the balls. Imagine getting down to your last question and you’ve still got a million left. Do you risk it all or split it it 50/50 and settle for £500,000? (This has never happened to me lol!) Suggest you have free go yourself NN and see if you can think of a way the PUPs could use it. nutty nigel 7,534 Posted March 19, 2020 So I've been racking my brains to come up with something that we can all do during this difficult time. How about - the football pools? Plus points The pools panel still sits so we will we will have football results of sorts from leagues we all know and understand. We can suggest one draw each in the same way we always make picks. We can still have stats and a league because each game will earn 1, 2 or 3 points. Minus points We are unlikely to win much I guess No live games to follow just results to check. You can all probably add points to that. Let me know what you think.

Nutty, this is totally leftfield but on the basis all ideas are welcome... Had an email just now from an Oz friend who mentioned that the AFL season is still starting this weekend, despite the coronavirus. I know nothing about Aussie Rules apart from her team, Melbourne, being rubbish. But it would be a proper sport vaguely akin to football, and there might be posters here who do understand it. At worst it would be fun to follow it, and Bet 365 and William Hill have odds.

nutty nigel 7,534 Posted March 19, 2020 PUPAnon has been in touch and suggested we use the weekly £13s for something else. So we can do the pools and other things. Will check out AFL and put a pools thread up this afternoon. Power to the PUPPPL 💪

Molly Windley 76 Posted March 19, 2020 It would be good to keep the PuP`s going, however we do it. There are still football games on, it`s a Thursday and 22 are listed on Bet365 in the next 24 hours Could I suggest that we open the picks up to all 1v1 sports as there are basketball, tennis, rugby league and volleyball games going on around the world. Just a suggestion, whatever is decided will try and contribute

nutty nigel 7,534 Posted March 19, 2020 Please see this thread for the pools.. I'll carry on checking the other fixtures for our globetrotting tipsters. Bet 365 do next 24 hours games that we could post up tomorrow evening.

Molly Windley 76 Posted March 20, 2020 Palestinian West Bank League, 2nd top v 2nd bottom so a home win for Shabab Al Am'ari vs. Al-Ahli Qalqilya @1.25 on Bet365
PurpleCanary 5,560 Posted March 20, 2020 (edited) I like the look of two home wins in Nicaragua: Diriangen (H 3-1-1 and 6/2) vs Deportivo Octal (A 0-1-3 and 2/9). Real Estili (3-1-1 and 12/3) vs Real Madriz (1-0-3 and 3/6). --- Melbourne in the W-L final looks a decent bet as well. nutty nigel 7,534 Posted March 20, 2020 Much as I'd like to make this work it appears Palestine is gone from PaddyPower now. The game is listed on Bet365 but Nicaragua isn't. Sorry PUPs. Keep thinking of new ideas for next week👍
