BroadstairsR 2,273 Posted March 5, 2020 When one edits an original posting does the original post stay up whilst you edit and 'til the edit is "saved?" I ask this because I edit all the time (every).Best change made in that latest overhaul, being able to do this, imo.

I edited it. My original comment stayed in Herman's quote!! There for all to see.
BroadstairsR 2,273 Posted March 5, 2020 (edited) Yes that's probably to be expected as you essentially cannot edit another's posting even if it contains your faux pas. My real point is, and perhaps SDP will know, is that whilst I am editing my own does the original un-edited post remain on show until I press the save button on my edited version or is it removed when you press edit? I would guess that it does. So your faux pas will be on show until you edit and press "save." Edited March 5, 2020 by BroadstairsR

nutty nigel 7,902 Posted March 5, 2020 I rarely make a post without editing it. I was thinking how bad my posts must have been until I remembered we used to have "preview" which worked the same. I know my posts are still bad but you know what I meant🙃

Otherwise I could call you a ******, you reply and I edit the original to make it look like you’re making a fuss about nothing. Or... well you get the idea. Sounds like a good tactic to ensure a never ending forum bust up.👍
Surfer 1,547 Posted March 6, 2020 Preview was an excellent tool. Having a Preview and an Edit tool would be ideal.
