"In the net"

Recommended Posts

I was reminded of this chant watching some footage of the 1971/2 season. Always thought this chant was a kind of positive exercise in willpower. A bit manic, maybe, but maybe at the next penalty we get it would be helpful?

Haha, I remember that chant Lakey.

I guess now another variant used (non football) is "back of the net!"

The "in the net" chant can be plainly heard as Paddon takes a penalty.

A few minutes in? Tried but failed to hear it.

Can you make & upload a recording for the rest of us! (Presumably in your strong Grant Holt accent...)

The penalty is Paddon's against Blackpool 35 minutes in.  You can clearly hear "in the net" and see the crowd clapping in time with that.

Indeed LDC I used to loin in with that one. I used to enjoy singing many of the songs, although I think one or two of the ones the Yarmouth boys brought along were more Skinhead than Norwich.
