Rod Liddle in the Sunday Times

As to my kids BTW, my daughter we had a name for from the day we got married, (we were expecting our first to be a girl) but it turned out to be a boy. So, there we are, in hospital, Mother and New Son and she said you''re not going until we''ve decided on a name. Well, I was reading Robert Ludlams Jason Bourne series at the time, well before it became famous through Matt Damon''s portrayal on the silver screen so I suggested to the ole lady ''Jason'' and she went yea, perfick, so there we are! As to a girls name, well 7 years later we were blessed with a daughter, Samantha Anne, no reason for the first name, we just liked it, the second name in memory of my wife''s mum who died at the far too you age of 42, heartbreaking doesn''t come close!

So there we are, I think Duncan, we may have inadvertently a good reason for a new thread!! Why or who did you name your kids after???

PS Dunc,

Got any of your own??

Happy New Year,

OTBC
Delia Smith and MWJ have done a lot of good things. You never know how a manager appointment goes. Many of them have been good appointments and some have been bad. For example was it genious to appoint Alex Neil since it ended with promotion. Back then ‘everybody’ hailed and praised the board. It’s the same with all football clubs in the whole world. Also Real Madrid, Barcelona, Manchester City, Manchester Utd and so on, some are good and some are bad. The board are patient, maybe a bit too patient sometimes. In the situation we are in now they are a bit late to take action, since things started to go bad many months ago.
I think you would do well to make a distinction between the Board with McNasty and the Board without McNasty.

The appointments of Lambert and Neil were clearly due to McNasty whereas the appointments of the Mike Walker 2, Rioch, the Blarneymeister, Grant, Roeder, Gunn, Adams & Farke clearly bear all the hallmarks of Suffolk Socialism. Yes, McNasty was overruled on Adams as Delia thought a Youth Cup winner could manage in the EPL.

I enjoy Liddle on football, as he is a genuine fan and not prem focused, infact he dislikes the top league as a lot of us do on many levels. One usually gets a more balenced view of ones own club from other fans, as they don''t have the grievances and sometimes parochial views that can get embedded by a long term allegiance. Most fans know Norwich have benefited from having genuine local fans as owners. People understand that its not the job of owners to manage the club, but to enable others to do their jobs. Yes, they take the flak when things go wrong, and take the praise when things go right. Norwich City are basically in a similar position in the league as they were when I started to support us. Off the field we are in a hugely better place. Liddle knows a thing or two about the harsh realities. I noticed that Lewisham Council are still not behind the Lions staying at the new Den. No one likes them. How about some South London socialism? Good luck to the club formed by migrant scots in Bermondsey.
