Dean Coneys boots 1,400 Posted May 12, 2016 Am I alone in wondering if the introduction of Ed Balls was the catalyst in unsettling the boardroom? Is he the reason Bowkett and DM jumped? Was very unhappy at his appointment- don''t think we need politicians anywhere near football clubs...and it has been a nosedive since his arrival!
TCCANARY 263 Posted May 12, 2016 Ed Balls was appointed after Bowkett left.

morty 0 Posted May 12, 2016 You''re kinda half way there, nearly.I heard a theory vaunted that the boardroom needed a strong character that was willing to stand up to McNally a bit.Looks like Mr Balls won this particular battle.

Thankfully silencing the posters who came up with the idiotic claim that the nephew was getting the job, or that Balls himself was. There has been some criticism of what seems to be him smirking. I think, strange as it may seem for someone who has been in the public eye for years, he is just nervous. If he was talking about politics he would be sure of himself, but he is new to the job of football chairman, and he knows everthing he says will be pored over.As to him and McNally, I don''t know whether Balls was brought in specifically to stand up to the CEO, but I said when he was appointed he was quite tough enough to do so if necessary. Row D Seat 7 0 Posted May 12, 2016 Saying he didn''t want the job, but that they wanted the quick appointment of someone with a "deep, deep football knowledge" was music to my ears.

paul moy 235 Posted May 12, 2016 Anybody on the board that is not a champagne socialist would be treated with contempt IMO. He was the wrong appointment and there will be trouble ahead.
