  1. https://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/2024/04/24/leaving-echr-small-boat-crossings-lord-cameron/ It's the Telegraph afterall 😉
  2. They are in France already - encamped along the coast. I'm sure France would be delighted if there was a sensible method to move them on! As to Le Pen - I'm sure she'd just wave them on their way to the UK. Not her problem. More pertinently - I note the EU has just agreed a sharing out scheme for irregular immigrants - largely arriving into its southern states.
  3. Easy - You make other more sensible options to claim asylum or ways to cross available (in France) and claim without the risk of the small boats and people smugglers. Then you can be tough (Rwanda) with any 'queue' jumpers if there are proper alternatives! Most who try to come here have some sort of reason / link which is why as I understand most are actually successful in their claim! The boats are simply a symptom of the underlying issue.
  4. Even cheaper still, if we gave each one £100,000 to go to Rwanda..... and likely to get more takers! I'm actually rather pleased this is now going to be tried. If as seems quite likely it will have little to no impact on the numbers over the summer (not that the existing channel life threatening and asylum centre deterrent doesn't already exist) then very clearly the 'deterrent' effect will of largely failed, the righties fox shot and we can all move on to more sensible policies in time for the GE.
  5. I was wondering if I could identify anybody?
  6. Oh dear - The much much larger pro-Palestinian marches have been discussed elsewhere endlessly - a huge raft of people (tens to hundreds of thousands) - from differing backgrounds, races, politics, indeed religions including Jews. Yes of course there were/are some unpleasant types amongst them which the police should and indeed do arrest. The vast vast majority are however peaceful. However 'Hate Marches' is clearly a rabid label only applied to them by those who aren't the full shilling, apologists for Israel or on the more extreme right largely for s h it stirring political purposes. The 'Nationalist' St. Georges day march was peaceful too - the Police let them get to with it until some decided to look for trouble. Nothing to see here. Business as usual which is why it's dropped out the news.
  7. Appreciate it's somewhat edited for effect but it a bit cruel to out these types this way.
  8. Yes - Hull are angling for both us OR WBA to slip up! A reasonable hope.
  9. Well now the dust has settled from last night we can see what we must do. Beat Swansea at home on Saturday and with our superior and almost certain to remain goal difference we will all but be mathematically in the play offs even if Hull do beat Ipswich by an odd goal that evening.
  10. Everyone will be pleased about this. It must go hand in hand with radical reform too of outdated working practices.
  11. Its a must win if there ever was one for both sides. Should be full blooded encounter. Pros and cons both ways for us if it matters at all. Seems a win-win for us! Whoever loses or draws need to take out their full revenge on Ipswich.
  12. https://www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/2024/apr/24/royals-william-kate-camilla-honours-monarchy-archaic "The honours in themselves are absurd, and make the mythical Ruritania look like a beacon of modernity" Couldn't agree more. Hilarious stuff. Order of the Potty.
  13. What I'd far rather see in Norwich at least is an imposing statue of a red haired lady in a chariot with blades on the wheels - perhaps on a marble arch! Yes the Victorian representation of Britannia - otherwise known as Boddica - about to burn London to the ground 😉 In Norfolk we don't make enough of our local heroes - Boddica and Nelson too. .
  14. The good news is that Wagner has been here before - indeed been successful via the play offs! Yes - he won't 'bottle' it!
  15. Ipswich have to play the both in the very near future? Hmm.
  16. Despite my fears logically I'm expecting a win. They'll be no cobwebs or woolly thinking / holiday mood in team after Bristol. A workman like ruthless performance.
  17. Yes HF. There were any number of the usual St. Georges days processions / celebrations (I alluded to my own experiences in years gone-by) but a few links illustrates the point - bands and all. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-york-north-yorkshire-68869701 https://www.networknorwich.co.uk/Articles/548036/Network_Norwich_and_Norfolk/Regional_News/North_Norfolk/North_Norfolk_Archive/North_Norfolk_St_Georges_day_parade_and.aspx As to the Robinson march - Trying to persuade normal people that that this was not a far right march but just normal 'patriotic' citizens is rather disingenuous to say the least. Even then - they were allowed a stage, Yaxley-Lennon and Laurence Fox speaking and only ran into trouble when they decided to march in areas not previously agreed with the police (i.e where other sane St Georges day parades where or people gathered). If it was such an innocent 'march' one has only to wonder why the likes of Farage or Tice, Braverman even weren't part of it - quite likely they had far more sense and didn't wish to be tarred by the same brush as Robinson, Fox and the rabble. You can be judged by the friends you keep!
  18. The main thing is that for all practical purposes assuming we don't implode we won't be playing Leicester! That's good! As to the rest - Leeds, Ipswich, Southampton or even WBA I feel more confident. Still think Leeds will be auto - Ipswich with both Hull and Coventry yet to play.
  19. Yes. It shows St. George isn't or wasn't set in stone. Much cooler...
  20. Perhaps they'll be a day this October or November that will unite the nation too....
  21. Rwanda flights in July? That' a little bit of an optimistic date I think to send the Tory party into exile.
  22. How about 'Glorious Revolution Day' - sometime in November/December. You know the last time we had a coup and/or where successfully invaded / taken over - deposing a king? 1688/9 No it wasn't 1066...
