  1. Bring Jackson in for Martin to freshen things up in attack. Give Lapin the benefit of the doubt but bring on Mac at halftime if he''s not getting the delivery right.
  2. Can anyone think of a class act like Dion Dublin with Premiership experience who can play centre half and centre forward with a season or two left in the tank. Surely that kind of experience and target man cover for Grant Holt would be invaluable to us this season.
  3. ... any chance of an update for the Forest game please.
  4. he''s naturally talented but unprofessional and not very bright so he doesn''t have the potential to improve his game and he doesn''t have the work ethic to play to a consistent level week in week out. Peter Grant knows this and will get rid of him in the summer. I think most mangers and fans will tear their hair out over PMV but perhaps somewhere there is a club and a manger with whom he can thrive. It''s just never gonna be NCFC.on the ball city!
  5. Sorry if this has already been asked, but why is the team of the week Grimsby when we''re next playing Colchester? Is it that we''ve never played Colchester in a competitve game?
  6. Note to PG...To stand any chance of beating Chelsea we should be solely concentrating on defending and attacking set pieces this week. No more rubbish short corners please. With Lappin in the side we now have someone who can deliver a decent dead ball and with the likes of Brown, Dublin, Shackell, Etuhu etc we have the stature to bother Chelsea in the 6 yard box from set plays.I''m not suggesting we go there playing long ball. In open play we should play the kind of "good football" that makes us all want to support our fine team, but let''s be ruthlessly organized at the one thing that is a leveller in football - the set play. Also if Frank Lampard is shaping up to shoot, can we make sure nobody tries to block or close him down. How many of his  goals for chelsea result from a scuffed shot defelecting off a defenders arse before pathetically pea rolling over the line. While I''m here..Note to Steve McClaren...Why not put Huckerby in your next England squad and play him left side. Let''s face it he can''t do any worse than the pathetic lack lustre 11 that didn''t turn up against Spain.
  7. Don''t know about you lot but the recent statement from Peter Grant saying that he has plenty of money to spend to rebuild the team is a bit worrying! Exactly where has this money suddenly appeared from? I can only fear the worse and be resigned to the fact that Earnshaw has already been sold for £4 m to a struggling premiership side. There was a time when I remember debates on this message board with some folks saying "I''d rather be winning games in the Championship than loosing games in  the Premiership". Oh dear, look where we''re at now, but then I''d rather be loosing games in the championship than winning games in League 1 :-(
  8. and did he jump or was he pushed? could this be the start of a much needed clearout, hopefully some deadwood will be off-loaded in January... My vote to replace him would be Ian Crook, but perhaps Grant will bring in someone from North of the boarder? any thoughts...
  9. ...yes please IMO. He''s got great pace and an eye for goal - shame it''s in the middle of his forehead though! What do you folks think?
  10. It was a joke [:''(] ...a satirical view on Worthy''s signings if you like.
  11. ...has just been put on the transfer list by Forest. Surely not...please [8-)]
  12. ...a good bit of business IMO and no coincidence that results have picked up while he''s been in the side.
  13. Can''t believe I keep rising to these inane posts but then nobody else is fighting the corner of balanced minds, so here goes... Guilty till proven innocent? Don''t think so, judge him when he''s actually had a run in the team. Or perhaps we should have signed someome quality like Gerrard or Lampard - can''t believe NW didn''t think of that ;-) Pinch yourself and then you might wake up, we''re in the Championship!
  14. Green isn''t gonna leave - which Prem side is going to come in for him? he''s still has a tendency towards inconsistency and needs to improve decision making. Don''t get me wrong he''s a great keeper and makes saves others can only dream of but it''s the other side of his game that needs to improve before he can be world class.
  15. ...Nigel Worthington. Well done sir I think you''re still the right man for the job. - - - - - - - - - - (quietly putting my big wooden spoon away now)
  16. No not out Cilla, but Pompey big man HR has just said 7 m is too much for Ashton! Well no sh*t sherlock we shouldn''t be listening to anything less than 10 m. Apart from the fact that he''s bagged goals in the Prem already he''s a future England Captain and potentially the closest thing to Shearer that this fair land has ever produced. I applaud you Dario you really are the dogs danglies when it comes to producing top youth players.
  17. Agreed he does fit the NW mould but with Thorne already here as Ashton''s shadow I can''t see it happening unless the latter leaves. And let''s face it that would be like selling a BMW M Series and replacing it with a Renault 18 and NW aint that stupid. Like I say smoke and mirrors, he''s the David Copperfield of East Anglia.
  18. It''s very difficult not to get excited/concerned about arrivals and departures from NCFC. But one thing I have learnt since Mr W has been in charge is that he very rarely if ever signs anyone that he talks about. So all this talk of signing Andy Gray or Cameron Jerome IMO is guff, unless NW has decided to change tact and double bluff us all. Also the fact that the board have come out and said they have no money probably means they do. Therefore I predict a light smattering or midfield players and a 50% chance of a 6'' plus defender. Oh yeah and Ashton staying for the duration of the season.
  19. yes that''s you the "Worthington out" brigade that have reared your ugly (an empty) heads again after just one defeat. Poor tactics, poor team selection, bad decision making etc etc. Just get over it, Preston were better than us and better than most teams in this league. We need to sign midfield players, centre of the park and wide right/left. We''ve got the fire power and a good defence but there''s no supply and no creativity in centre midfield (without Saf). We''re 3 or 4 players short of a promotion side and it''s time to spend some money or forget it for this season. But please stop with this "Worthy out" and "Worthy cost us the game" it''s futile rubbish and the fact is he''s staying whether you like it or not - get used to it, get behind your manger and team and just pray that delia put''s her hand in her apron pocket for January.
  20. I''m not gonna even bother to read your post but from the title it''s clear that you''re an idiot. Worthy didn''t loose the game it was the inept players out there that lost the game. We need to strengthen in Jan, especially in midfield. But please give the man a break - I suppose the 5 games we won recently were purely down to Worthy - no I didn''t think so.
  21. It says on the BBC website that McVeigh took a knock in the Sheffield United game and may miss out altogether against Burnley, but this isn''t reported anywhere else - any ideas? Would be a real shame if he misses out - he''s in fantastic form! WLY...
