1. Any thoughts on whether this trio should be included as part of our attacking line-up? The twins are 21 and CM is 21 in December - with the amount of 1st team football they''ve experienced elsewhere, surely they are good enough to brought into the squad? The danger of not bringing them in is twofold: 1) They could become disillusioned and ... 2) It would disincentivise anyone from joining our academy (who was the last academy player to regularly feature with the 1st team?) As for the Madisons, McGrandles and Thompsons of the world ...... I suspect their opportunities will be even more remote if the above trio are left on the sidelines
2. Passion? What passion? Sounds like a "plastics" supporter to me Needs to put a bit of heart and soul into it!
3. Thanks Ginja. Following tonights performance, I suspect that 67% will now be well below the 50% mark!
4. According to Sky, we have a 67 % chance of staying up - using Sportsrisq''s probability model http://www.skysports.com/football/news/11661/10152949/birmingham-city-more-likely-to-start-201617-in-premier-league-than-one-per-cent-aston-villa? (I can''t seem to get the links to work in this version of the message board - am using Chrome)
5. I loved AN''s comments in the pink''un: Neil, however, insists there is no hidden agenda. (insists Grrr - no he didn''t, he merely stated!) “No, I think it is based on each incident, it shouldn’t be a case of Norwich have not had one yet so we should maybe give them one,” he said. “I think we potentially had one when the ball gets crossed into Cameron Jerome and I felt someone was holding him down but I am not complaining about penalties for or against. “The fact is the way Leicester play with that counter-attacking style, they are expansive and put you in those situations. It was something we had spoken about before the game, the fact they had the highest penalty ratio in the league, we highlighted that but we couldn’t stop it.” Neil felt Vardy’s cunning earned the Foxes a penalty. “Watching it in real-time I thought the player played for it,” he said. “It is a hard one to call. He has stopped his body and gone down, which you could argue is good striking play from their point of view, but for us it is about losing a slack ball in the middle of the park. The way those paragraphs read: 1) No Mr FA, we know your ref''s couldn''t possibly be biased! 2) It was blatantly obvious that Cameron Jerome should have had a penalty - but "hey guys, I''m not complaining, don''t know why I even mentioned it! 3) It was our fault, because we knew that Leicester cons the ref by having the highest penalty ratio in the league! 4) Even though Vardy did play for it, it was all our fault because we lost the ball in the middle of the park! 5) finally, dictionary definition of cunning: having or showing skill in achieving one''s ends by deceit or evasion. synonyms: crafty, wily, artful, guileful, devious, sly, knowing, scheming, designing, tricky, slippery, slick, manipulative, Machiavellian, deceitful, deceptive, duplicitous, Janus-faced; I would like to think that this approach might actually benefit us in the long run - with it being suggested to refs that they might like to keep an eye on the likes of Vardy and other "speedy forwards" tactics in trying to con them into a penalty. And throughout all this, AN is steadfastly refusing to blame the refs! Something which makes him stand out with dignity. That I''m sure will be duly noted at FA HQ. BTW how he is able to be so philosophical about it is beyond me - my level of restraint in those circumstances is, to be quite honest, embarrassing in the extreme!
6. Oops, The only saving grace I can think of is that they are both in the Championship! Nevertheless, it''s good that VOO is back!
7. Hopefully that''ll put the mockers on VOO and Andreu extending their stay. They were hopeful for at least a VOO extension when Steve Evans was still in situ (something to do with being friends with AN)
8. As an addendum to the 8th post above (12:48 am): I see that Everton and NCFC have agreed on Tues 27th Oct - that only gives the Toffees 2 days to lick their wounds from Arsenal instead of the 3 if they had gone for the Weds night. This now looks like they will be resting as much as possible for the Sunderland game, thereby lowering their guard against us! As the saying goes, we live in hope .... (and die in despair!)
9. Given Ryan Bennett''s performance last night, he could easily slip into CB with Seb. We could then have: 1 R Martin 2 C Jerome 3= K Lafferty / D Mbokani 5 L Grabban As Hooper is injured, not worth including him (That''ll confuse the bejezus out of Slavin Bilic!)
10. Thanks for the report Ricardo. Given that Mbokani was your MoM, how would you see him being deployed if CamJam is the preferred man up front?
11. Grefstad, Everton play at Arsenal on Sat night Oct 24th (On Sky) They have to play us on week commencing Mon 26th They then have a 1.30 on Sun 1st Nov at home to Sunderland (again on Sky). Their focus will be on recuperating after an Arsenal hammering & ensuring no banana skins against Sunderland, thereby putting out a weakened team for the cup match against us! Whereas the only potentially difficult game we have between now and end Oct is away to Man City {:-) (I have opened the door.............)
12. DEB In your post you wrote: I live and work in North Suffolk - my kids play local football and I am aware of many families that attend matches at PR due to ticket availability, despite being impartial with their support - they just want to go several times a season to see professional football. If they want to see Professional Football, then there is no fear of them going to PR
13. His 2nd MoM performance against Arsenal today - and he acknowledged that it equated to his performance against Norwich a couple of weeks ago. BTW - If it wasn''t for him, Arsenal would be 2nd (on goal difference) and we would be 4th!
14. BroadstairsR - As AN said - he is not going to sell to one of our rivals! Can you imagine the wailing and caterwauling on this site if we did sell him to Bournemouth - and he then goes on to score an injury time winner for them??????
15. How about he walks out of the shop and goes to the "International Store" where he gets more value and choice
16. With a goal ratio of almost 1 in 2 games - I have far more confidence in his abilities. Add Matt Jarvis on the wing and the opposition will be too busy defending their goal to try and test our back 4 :-)
17.
I don''t disagree with much of what you say except, ''striking intent'' counts for nothing, and it would appear that Rotherham will be exploiting Voo''s potential.
It is only a 1 month emergency loan
18. The end of the world is nigh! Doom & Gloom pervades. Blame is being apportioned between McNally and Neil! Norwich have acquired a beast of a striker, have loaned out RVW with an option to buy and have sold Bradley Johnson for a decent figure. Our striking intent has been plain for all to see - Walters, Naismith, Gayle We haven''t lost any key players and managed to keep hold of Redmond & Hoolahan. We have a new player to look forward to in Mulumbu, and, once Olsson returns, a player playing in his ideal position (Brady). Over and above Mbokani, Lafferty could turn out to be a revelation under AN. That''s without fully exploiting the likes of VOO. Finally, we still have one of the best man / team motivators in the land in the form of AN. Now look at our 2 fellow promoted teams - each signing 10/12 players. So similar to what Worthington did when he took us up - whilst it may not literally rip the heart out of the club, it certainly didn''t help create a harmonious and close knit community. AN has developed an incredible team spirit whilst stamping his authority on the players. So we ONLY signed 6 players in this transfer window, what more do people want - to copy the example set by such Premiership stalwarts as Villa, Sunderland and of course the experienced Watford & Bournemouth? Good Grief!
19. Has anyone seen anything on new this - whether it''s still in the air or died a natural death?
20. WCORKCANARY With all the rumours surrounding Hooper going to Sheff Weds, I hope your last sentence was a Freudian slip! (Exiting times indeed.)
