  1. Unfortunately Bennett wasn''t on the pitch when Carlton scored......
  2. Nobody is ''weltering in sentimentality ''. Benitez has stated that Murphy was prepared to walk out of Carrow Road to ensure a move to Newcastle. So Murphy was prepared to renege on his 4-year contract and show no desire to help return NCFC to the PL. Murphy has jumped ship at his first reasonable opportunity, if football is now a business, then he is history, and Norwich fans owe him no sentiment. In fact, as far as the Norwich City first-team is concerned, his contribution has been next to nothing.
  3. If you are going to quote Benitez, then don''t just edit it to serve your purpose. " We are happy with one of them, at the moment...." That short statement is tantamount to telling Josh that once the dust has settled, he will more than likely get his opportunity to follow his brother.
  4. in order to get his move to Newcastle....... I don''t see why a manager of Benitez'' standing would come out and say this unless it was true. In which case the whole saga stinks and Norwich were negotiating from a weakened position. Expect more of the same with Josh......
  5. Not content with stealing one Murphy from under our noses, he has already begun to ''tap-up'' the other one by stating an intention to return for Josh. It will be a blessing were Newcastle to suffer relegation this season to lessen the likelihood of this happening.....
  6. If he goes, it will be because he engineered the move. So much for player contracts. Asking his agent to make the deal happen has also ensured the price paid will be far more to Newcastle''s liking than Norwich''s. 15m was a fair asking price, no doubt it will be much closer to 10m. Will this galvanise Josh, or have an adverse effect on his development?
  7. Aged 26, yet only played about 100 competitive games? He''s either not good enough, or has an injury record that would make him an ideal companion for Jarvis.
  8. Oliveira will NOT be joining Reading this summer. ''The Tilehurst End'' pours cold water on the rumour.....
  9. If Oliveira is set to leave NCFC for Reading, then it is clearly because of the player''s desire to exit, rather than the club wishing to sell. The fact that it is Reading is neither here nor there. If the player is unhappy, then the club will be looking for a quick sale and therefore more time to find a replacement before the season starts. The big question is why Dorrans, Howson and Oliveira are jumping ship so quickly after a new regime has been put in place? Is Webber ruffling feathers at the rate of knots? Has poverty taken over from prudence, and is ambition now a distant memory?
  10. When these players happily sign their long-term contracts it turns out to be a one-way street..... If the club want to get rid of a player for whatever reason, they have to pay up the contract. If the player decides he doesn''t want to fulfil the contract, he can throw his toys out of the pram and engineer a move. Howson deserves no sympathy and little adulation from NCFC supporters. Probably not as good as some fans believe or else a few PL clubs might have shown some interest and tested his ''desire'' to move north.
  11. I''m still waiting to read Dorrans'' and Howson''s glowing testimonials of Norwich City FC.....have I missed them?
  12. One would have to assume that as Norwich 1st team coach, McAvoy had absolutely nothing to do with coaching the defence. It is very rare for a manager to be sacked and his right-hand man not to follow. McAvoy must indeed be held in very high regard unless the club cannot afford to pay off his contract.
  13. Hart supposedly earns £110k per week. I can''t imagine any PL club wanting to buy a dodgy keeper and pay him that sort of money. So it will be another loan or else catching splinters in his backside whilst being paid that ridiculous amount of money.
  14. So McAvoy is expected to remain at Norwich! Does anybody know what value McAvoy brings to the table to justify his retention?
  15. Gareth Southgate seems to be a deep-thinker and intelligent manager......so how in the world does he believe that Joe Hart is the best English goalkeeper?
  16. Reading what he has to say on joining Wolves, I think it''s fair to say his ability does not match his ambition.
  17. The head coach who is said to have influenced the coaching methods of Daniel Farke has swiftly, and somewhat surprisingly, exited Dortmund. I don''t suppose Lambert''s recent CV would entertain a return to his former club.......
  18. A good result ahead of next season - the worst team remains in the championship.
  19. Because it will free up another space for a possibly younger, hopefully hungrier, and maybe more mobile midfielder, that will improve our squad. Dorran''s has failed to live up to his earlier years. If the new coach is keen on possession, than hopefully Tettey will be next......
  20. Good. New broom continues to sweep.......
  21. Good footballers in their day, but their recent history of lengthy driving bans suggests that alcohol has affected their judgement and their opinions on football matters should be given little air time.
  22. The bottom line is that NCFC has gone stale. Big signings have proved futile...the players appear unfit ( hence the numerous late goals conceded).....the youngsters have been given fleeting opportunity......Tettey (can''t make a ten yard pass) has been virtually a shoe-in.....the defence has been non-existent....etc,etc.... A foreign coach should shake things up significantly There will be no favourites, everyone starts afresh. The players will have to buy into a new philosophy or naff off. It would appear that he knows how to organise a defensive unit. If that is the case, then he couldn''t be arriving at a more relevant time.
