1. AN played Bassong and Martin because they were the best option he had. It was not the right game to throw Klose straight into after 2 training sessions. Yes he cost 7M but you''d be the first person on here saying he was rubbish and that we lack ambition etc etc if he''d played and we''d also shipped 5 goals. Clearly we need to overhaul the defence and that is happening. Ok not as quickly as we''d like but it''s not through want of trying. We can''t force player to come here, even if we''re prepared to pay the money! I don''t get why everyone is so up in arms about this result. We scored 4 goals past Liverpool. When did that last happen? Naismith looked fantastic and he made the players around him play better. That was Redmond''s best game for a long time. We missed Tetty and who knows what the issue is with Mulumbu. Last time we went down we couldn''t score goals. That''s not the case this time round. AN will sort out the defence by the end of January. It''s also interesting what Naismith said about communication and IMO that''s where we missed GON. Silly boy for getting that red card. Keep your pants dry and perhaps we''ll get a point against spurs.
2.
About bloody time! Do other clubs have such protracted transfers? We could all have read ''War and Peace'' back to front the time it''s taken to put this to bed.......
I suspect his ankle knock delayed things with the medical. I also get the impression that Martinez is a bit of a pedant and awkward to deal with.
3. At the premier league and fixture congestion. Funny how the Christmas schedule is so terrible when you''re not winning every couple of days. He does have a point about the FA cup though. With midweek premier league games straight after it''ll be 2nd choice elevens everywhere. We could see plenty of upsets, including one against man city.
4. Olsson has been poor recently. Lack of concentration, not going with runners and letting players get in behind him. I think it was a good decision to put Bradey at LB and this also paves the way for Jarvis'' return. That can''t come soon enough for me. And re. Redmond it''s clear that his instructions were to receive the ball out wide, cut inside and deliver into the box (as per the 1st goal) or get a shot away. Jarvis will take the ball to the dead ball line and cross but we must fill the box when that happens.
5. ... has cut his loan short at Palace. Would prefer him to hooper or grabban.
6. Perfectly reasonable team selection. Olsson was poor against Spurs and the ones who have come in were rested. Let''s just hope it''s more mbokani than mbokanti today. Like to have seen o''neil even if just for his good organisation skills.
7. On the balls City, never mind the election, Steady on, now’s your chance, Spend some cash in January Take us up the premier league City! City! City!
8. Some people once wanted this clown as our manager. That would be like letting a failed labour chancellor take care of our finances. Oh balls!
9. Looking at his build based on his photo he''s a big unit with considerable room for improvements. Moving to Norfolk could see him flourish in a much larger Habitat.
10.
Godfreys closed down a long time ago. He''s just taking the Jewson pee!
Someone better get in quick with a homebase gag or it''ll be curtains for this post.
11. This is the only sensible thing Holloway has ever said. He must have been misquoted.
12. check this out. 2m20sec in... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nPktGnPWfjY
13. Nursey from the mirror is purporting we''re in for a 17 year old from York and French keeper mandanda. Not quite what I had in mind. Those two and Jarvis would be about right for our average window though. Oh plus a lad from Spurs on loan.
14.
We would, but we''d still call you something else.
How ironic. Or is it? Just can''t tell any more.
15. The car is ready and full of petrol. I''d drive him to Bournemouth tomorrow. Worthless waste of space and a bad apple. If we''re going to have a striker who can''t play on his own I''d rather have Hooper back in the squad. He''s the best finisher we have.
16.
And the irony will be Villa get him for £8m, he scores goals to keep them up, and we go down cuz our measly board fail to match expectations in Premiership, and we go remainder of season with our stuttering strikers!
Um seriously. You think Villa have any chance of staying up? Last time I checked they were on 8 points and we''re halfway through. I''d be surprised if they get to 20. If they go down with those two really ''big'' clubs from the NE then I''ll happily take 17th place. Just picture the MotD cameras panning across rows and rows of half naked crying geordies. Brings a lump to the throat doesn''t it :-)
17. He''s not coming to us. Too expensive Wages too high Wrong age Will want to stay in London Injury prone
18. I''m not sure Brandy at left back is such a waste of his talents. He''s got bags of energy and the modern game demands full backs that can essentially play the full length of the flank. That''s why Martin and Whits struggle to play well there. They just don''t have the required pace or athleticism to do it for 90 mins. On Redmond I don''t understand why he always slows the game down and then tries to beat his man. Sometimes he needs take his man on straight away. Think how many times Hucks used to run with the ball (probably too much sometimes!) but he scared defenders and he either won free kicks or went passed them. I think Redmond needs to be a bit braver sometimes and be prepared to get kicked when he goes past a full back. Once you get them on a yellow card they won''t want to touch him again and will worry even more about his pace. He''s a key player for us but is still learning. He won''t be going anywhere in Jan.
19. It''s a shame we don''t have the same issue on the right. Redmond is blowing hot and cold and what''s behind him isn''t anything like what''s on the other flank.
