  1. The likes of Howson, Snodgrass and Johnson saw Norwich as a better bet to play to the PL and they were right.
  2. There's much criticism of the club's recruitment, is this solely a lack of ambition or is it a case of the better players not wanting to come to Norwich?
  3. I only watched the first half but after the early chance for Drmic there was only ever going to be one winner, the lack of any intensity from City was surprising given their situation, how does Farke turn this around?
  4. The EFL seem to be happy that they covered any legal challenge but those clubs with deeper pockets might feel it's worth a shot.
  5. Would I be right in thinking that in both Belgium and France the respective FA's made the decisions without any voting by the clubs, if so then that is a somewhat different scenario to the what happened in the EFL yesterday. I'm sure that Tranmere will try to get their relegation overturned in the courts but would they win?
  6. Is it any wonder why the EPL is keen to get playing and also why Spuds have borrowed £175 million.
  7. Precedent set? https://www.theguardian.com/football/2020/jun/05/chelsea-handed-womens-super-league-title-on-points-per-game-basis
  8. To be fair it's not just football, racing and snooker are now back so they must be testing on a large scale everyday.
  9. I have to agree 100% with canarycop, in my mid/late teens I was a complete nightmare (juvenile court, magistrates court you name it) and it had nothing to do with my upbringing, I simply mixed with the wrong people (football and scooters) and my parents had no idea what I was up to. My only fear for the Huckerbys is that prison may well screw up the boy for years.
  10. If Leeds do go up there is going to be a huge investment from Qatar, specifically from the same company that owns PSG.
  11. One of the biggest problems Leeds have had over the last three seasons is a lack of a clinical striker, there is talk of making a bid for Pukki should they go up and Norwich come down but I'm not sure he's the answer. I thought he'd do okay in the PL but he seemed to struggle after a promising start, Leeds do create plenty of chances so maybe he would thrive.
  12. This has always been my thinking should Leeds go up, survival will be the primary aim.
  13. They have got to agree Jim, 'winging-it' won't wash with the FA, Sky or the EFL.
  14. Having an agreement in place before the season re-starts is the most sensible thing to do and will stop any possible legal action.
  15. It's not just about relegation though is it, surely Liverpool can't be given the title if the season gets curtailed?
  16. Can anyone tell me why the PL is restarting if relegation may not happen?
  17. I'm not suggesting scrapping it in one go but over say three years, the idea was good but the size of the payments is now huge compared to even five years ago, Norwich could receive close to £50 million next season if they go down which is a massive advantage over the rest of the Championship.
  18. Why would the three relegated clubs go bust, they'd simply have to make ends meet by selling players and cutting the wage bill which is surely fairer than just being given £50 million? Is it any surprise the clubs currently 2nd and 3rd in the Championship both received tens of millions in parachute payments this season?
  19. Sorry but the good ship 'Null and Void' sailed weeks ago. Here's my prediction for the EFL - the Championship will complete, Leagues 1 and 2 will be sorted by PPG which will mean promotion/relegation to and from the National League and NLS and NLN, good news for Kings Lynn.
  20. The PL is both the problem and the solution, get rid of the parachute payments and all clubs in the EFL are in a better position to survive.
  21. All the leagues in Europe that are re-starting are doing so on the basis that relegation will happen, why should the EPL be any different?
  22. If the PL starts again then relegation has to happen even if the season is subsequently ended without being completed and this has to be accepted and agreed before any games are played. This does of course give the EFL an opportunity not to restart but everything I've seen indicates that as far as the Championship is concerned they intend to finish the season and what happens in L1 and L2 has no bearing on the PL anyway.
  23. How odd as that is the opposite to what the EFL said a short while ago.
