  1. Perhaps it will be influenced by this site and be pink!
  2. Now we''re scraping the barrell. Perhaps his old man could make a guest appearance though!!
  3. I also missed Ross Jack out of my original squad - should he get a place? What about Scott Howie as back up keeper instead of Gallagher?
  4. Willie Young would certainly liven things up a bit wouldn''t he! How could I forget old three lungs - he would have to be in there, possibly in place of Peter Grant, Lapps probably on the bench, he''s used to being there and wouldn''t feel out of place.
  5. I couldn''t bring myself to think of Russell Martin as Scottish, even though he plays for them! As English as a stick of Brighton rock. Also, it''s argable whether he would have got in ahead of Whittaker any way.
  6. Good shout for Hugh Curran LDC, I totally forgot about him although again a bit before my time. Definately could replace Jim Blair on the bench though!
  7. Don''t really remember Jim Oliver, a bit before my time. What would your team be Broadstairs?
  8. Seeing the players that we hyave called up for Scotland (Snodgrass, Martin & Whittaker) got me thinking about the great Jocks that have played for us over the years. For a bit of fun, I''ve picked my all time (since early 70''s), team of Scottish Canaries - have I missed anyone and what would yours be? In a 4 4 2 formation with a Management team of Paul Lambert and Bruce Rioch: Bryan Gunn   Steven Whittaker Malky Mackay Duncan Forbes Alan Black   Robert Snodgrass Peter Grant Asa Hartford Kenny Foggo   Robert Fleck Ted MacDougall   Subs: Paul Gallagher Billy Steele Jimmy Bone Billy Kellock Jim Blair
  9. So do I, but nothing wrong with wishful thinking!!!
  10. You''re right Morty, it''s not that easy - far from it. But, as I see it we have two choices now - 1. Sit tight and hope that Hughton can pull it out of the bag 2. Do something, take a gamble and try to save our skins.
  11. Normally I would agree with you and in fact said the very same thing a few weeks ago (when Sunderland sacked O''Neill). I just think now that so much rides on the WBA game and can Hughton get us the 3 points?? I''m not sure myself that O''Neill would be our long term answer but if he could just get us 3 points next week and maybe, just maybe something at Man City, then it could be a gamble worth taking. Worst case scenario, why couldn''t he get us up again next season?
  12. Why Morty? If he wins us one game it could be a gamble worth taking
  13. Is Martin O''Neill the man for us and he is available? If so, is it too late for him to save us now? Should the worst happen and we go down, is he the man to get us straight back up next season?
  14. I would rather we tried to get Maloney from Wigan - good competition for Pilks / Snoddy
  15. Am I the only one that can''t see why all the hype over the other Bennett (Elliott)?Never really seen much in him since he''s been here and still can''t - give me Snoddy any day pace or no pace!
  16. What''s going on with Butterfield? Looks as though he was subbed yesterday at Peterborough and not always getting picked. Is he proving a bit of a dud or is he still working his way back to fitness,if so, he''s taking his time!
  17. How about someone like Danny Grahem to help us through the rest of this season and to compete with Holty for a place up front and then, if we stay up, some more investment in the summer on a longer term striking option?
  18. Yeah but was it really £8m, and even if it was would have been good value if he got even a third of the goals he scored last season. I just get the impression that he''s a natural goal scorer which seems exactly what we are lacking at the moment.
  19. Just wondered what the thinking is on Jordan Rhodes now the season is underway? He seems to be knocking in the goals now at Championship level, (another one tonight), and we look desperately in need of a goal scorer. Should we have taken that gamble on him?
  20. I''m not saying he is or isn''t the right man, what I''m asking is what are the alternatives???
  21. I''d be amazed if they did after today and don''t think I would want them to either.
  22. If Houghton''s not the right man - who is??? Give me some names.
  23. What worries me at the moment is if thigs don''t work out and we have to get rid of Hughton, who do we get in to do the job? Right at this moment I can''t think of any obvious contenders - can you??
