  1. Lewis- Record speaks for its self Hayes Goals scoring and assists ability at youth level was top class and still is. Goals win matches
  2. This page is full of speculation.Fact or fiction. It is a fact that whilst we go down two ex Youth products considered by the experts in charge of the club not good enough to retain, sail forward with their respective clubs into the Championship. The Peterborough goal keeper is well known. A Roeder Blunder. Why oh why was Paul Hayes of Scunthorpe not given a contract, people who should have known better retained Henderson and he has sailed into obscurity. Hopefully the youth of today will be given a fairer deal
  3. Of the 23 League One clubs 11 were with us when we were last in Division Three and some have never been elsewhere. European League, Premier League, Division One, Championship, Division Two. Thanks for the memory. We will be back.
  4. Remember Gunn is not the first manager to be promoted from the ranks at Carrow rd Ashman,Stringer, Walker to mention a few and they did alright. What are the qualities of Gunn. Football, involved all his life. great back stopper with every opportunity to study form and style. Community involvement elected Sheriff of the City of Norwich. Organizational skills founded a major health research facility. He has clearly demonstrated that he has leadership and management potential, with the ability to communicate and inspire. Give the man a chance to put right misguided actions of his predecessor. The chairman at St Andrews Hall remarked the club was going through its darkest hour and this theme has been taken up by many of the passionate but moaning posters. Two seasons running just after the second world war we had to apply for re election to the league its self. Those were our darkest hours and we survived then and recovered, with a team largely made up of young unknowns. Who is to say it will not happen again
  5. If he is on Gunn''s side you had better watch out. ''
  6. Can someone provide him with a new wand for next season , the old one was useless
  7. we got action then by bringing in new blood. not by protests moans and groans
  8. We have been on the rocks before 1946/47 and 1947/48 we had to apply for re election to the Football league whilst getting crowds on a par with today''s attendance. How did we overcome, it was out the old players and in came the young and untried Kinsey, Nethercot, Dennis Morgan, Pickwick, Ashman, Hollis, Ryder to name but a few and up the table we went. It is possible to find those who can do the job and some are waiting in the wings, lets use them. The management are well aware of the feelings of the fans. moans and groans will get us nowhere.
  9. Have no fear is Keane not the man who walked out on his last club. Is Keane not the man who walked out on his country. Whats the betting he will not walk out on Ipswich as soon as things go wrong. There is a thing known as loyalty and commitment and Gunn measures up to those principals
  10. Norwich v Reading is being shown live on Fox Sport 1 at 5a.m Eastern Australian Time Tuesday 28th April 2009.
  11. All we got was rubbish as someone spent ten minutes trying to find Nick. who when at last found used the term "you know" somewhere about ninety seven times in the course of an interview which we distant canaries didnot want to hear. We wanted the Adams talk back but like the city team the BBC failed us. Maybe they can make it up with a special segment of talk back recorded and put it on the web.
  12. I use firefox for most things but download icon is most times absent in Canary World
  13. 13,000miles away in the antipodes ex Thorpe St Andrews
  14. Attention Canaries in Australia. Ipswich Town v Norwich City to be telecast live down under by Austar/Fox. Sunday Evening 19th April. From your armchairs share in the glory of Gunn'' s wonder boys.
  15. greatest joy Sunday morning in Australia for city followers bbc radio Norfolk listen again Sports Hour. This Sunday after great result no sign of the programme. Can anyone let Radio Norfolk Know
  16. On the talk back tonight we heard how the Norwich City Crowd of today tend to turn on certain players. I am old enough to remember a certain Centre Forward joining the club taking excess flack and being booed off the pitch many years ago. That player named Ron Ashman became one of the best servants this club ever had. Give the boys a chance
  17. We have a powerful centre back down under called Kevin Muscat
  18. For anyone not to know about Ian Crook down under who has any interest in the sport is totally untrue, He made his mark here as a player, coach and t.v commentator and will be sorely missed
  19. Lucky Norwich City your gain is our loss we have nurtured Ian Crook down under for the past decade. The pasty white Spit on String( to coin an Antipodean Phrase). East Ender is returned to you a Bronzed Muscular Aussie. He has held his own with the best and will get the best out of city players and have no fear there is plenty talent waiting ti be discovered in the australian A league
  20. Worse signing a keeper called AntonioGallego came from Cambridge as an emergency had one senior game. a shocker and it was his first and last. it would have been around 1947
  21. We read about the worst signings how about one of the best whom we learn has just passed away Tommy Johnston who put two goals passed Arsenal at Highbury on winters day in the 4th  round of the cup. We had already missed a penalty and had our best player  Bobby Brennan sent off. A cold wind was blowing the snow into our faces and the gunners fans were taking the micky out of us, then a third divison. Tommy with his two headed goals turned it around and we won 2-1. Those days we stood with the home supporters. Said an old cockney '''' I'' will eat my hat if you lot do any good today and true to his word with some encouragement from us he attempted to do just that. A great team display that those who saw it will never forget. Rest in peace Tommy Johnston
  22. I have followed Norwich City since 1946 and have had many stars amongst my heroes but none as dynamic and exciting as Huckerby runing at defences and causing panic. The man is a legend
