  1. Are we all finally bored of picking up "fans" over the spelling of Hughton!?!
  2. It has certainly made a dull last day of the transfer more bearable.
  3. Maybe that is the point C4e. If we get relegated at the end of the season, which is a large possibility then inevitably Hughton will get the boot. Maybe Hughton is the problem like a lot of posters are suggesting and the club is simply keeping its options open. Sounds far fetched but with some of the weird goings on at this club who knows?!?!
  4. Loan makes more sense, we will get him back in the summer feel happy and refreshed and ready for the new season......
  5. That''s a little unfair, in comparison to some of the dime bar lovers on their forum, TEC seems quite normal. I might become a member of their board, cracking entertainment for a wet miserable day. Just hope this drags out till 11 as there isn''t much on the telly later to keep me entertained so that will keep me going for the night......
  6. Does anyone actually know how much Villa bid or will we ever know how much this new bid is. It will go down as undisclosed so it will only ever be speculation as to the value. There is no way that McNally will let on how much the accepted bid is unless he wants to get top dollar from Villa and get shot of Wes. If they want him that badly, make them pay.....
  7. Every time I go on there they answer my question about whether they are bright or arrogant. Granted some on there have a sensible outlook on the situation but some still can''t get there head around the fact that WE DO NOT HAVE TO SELL. Apologies for the caps, they are reading this forum so hopefully the really thick ones might be able to pick that bit out!?!
  8. So you''re happy are you Indy with the way he has conducted himself through all of this? This was always going to be a difficult one as the club have the right to not sell him, they also have a right to expect one of their players to behave in a respectable manner, which he hasn''t. Had he not come out in the press declaring his love for Lambert and then his little outburst yesterday, I would have a reasonable amount of sympathy for him being stuck in a club where he is unhappy, after the press stuff and the little outburst he has soured it for me and I suspect a lot of others. Yes of course I will want him to do well for the team if he does pull the shirt on, but I won''t lose any sleep if we now pack him off to a championship club on loan. Sometimes you have to make a stand against people and they tactics that Villa/Lambert have used should be reported to the FA. It has done no-one any favours has it.
  9. Tony Cottee Steve Walsh Gorman Maric Marc Libra David Strihavka Henrik Mortensen I could go on a while longer!?!
  10. Have made my mind up, not very bright! They haven''t been able to work out that all Hoolahan is doing with his outburst is to make an enemy of the board, McNally, Hughton etc and make himself unpickable and unpopular. All this Norwich being petty stuff is an obvious assumption to make, maybe, just maybe the club has no desire because they want him to stay and play. Although the more Hoolahan talks more bridges he will burn and if he doesn''t get sold he has some making up to do to not spend the rest of the season playing for the Under 21''s or to be loaned out to some championship team!!
  11. I suspect the only way he would be allowed to leave no matter what is if we get someone in to replace him before we release him. People on here go on about how he deserves it, after this he deserves nothing other than being told to sit down and shut up and show some respect. If, and it''s a big if we get someone else in of similar type, then we should get rid of him to Villa. I personally don''t want to see him pull on a Norwich shirt ever again and I would imagine the kit man will be pleased to get rid of him so he doesn''t have to cut the feet off socks anymore. Always thought that was a strange thing to do to bring you luck!?!?
  12. It''s quite clear that he said something derogatory towards the club, else why would it be reported. It all still comes back to the way that this has been handled and the only ones who have been clear have been the club. 1. Villa make an approach for Wes 2. It gets leaked so the club come out and state that he''s not for sale 3. Lambert and Holt go to the press about what a great player he is etc etc 4. Club reiterate he is not for sale 5. Wes hands in transfer request 6. Transfer request is denied 7. Wes tells the press how he wants to leave, and what an all round great guy Lambert is and how he wants to play for him 8. Club reiterate he is not for sale 9. Wes throws his toys out of the pram and says something to Sky. Granted we won''t know exactly what was said but that is irrelevant really! Someone is advising Wes, is that the agent or is he be advised on how to behave for the benefit of those that want him. Again we will never know for certain but who has the most to gain from this?
  13. Already rubbished at press conference earlier today
  14. Part of being a legend is the way you conduct yourself, is it not?
  15. Exactly CC and links to what I said in my post re villa fans. He is being played by Villa, or more likely Lambert or getting some really bad advice from his agent, either way he has a contract which suits both parties, ie he gets paid no matter what and the club gets a commitment for as long as he has that contract, unfortunately for Wes that''s still another 15 months.
  16. Fair point, and guess there are some on every forum...... Thanks for your input, do you know how long it took me to type that on an ipad mini......
  17. Having read through some of the pages on Villa Talk, and there are a lot of pages.....they seem to suggest that they have some sort of right to have Wes because they are Villa and we are just being petty by not letting him go. Appreciate it might look petty but we have an asset (ie Wes) and he has a value that we want to get for him, if this value isn''t met then there is no conversation to be had. As he is our asset, we have a right to say whether we want to let him go or not and unfortunately for him he has little or no say about it as he signed a new contract which tied him to us for another 18mths. Had they made us an offer that met our valuation and we still didn''t want to sell then again we have the right due to his contract...... However, had they made us an offer that met our valuation and we did want to sell but not to them then I can see their point. But everything is pointing to a below value offer being made and then getting Wes to do the rest by kicking off about wanting to go and not being allowed, ie trying to force the issues. If that is the case, then he loses all my respect and he is being played by them. All the talk is about us being petty and looking silly, so coming back to my question, not very bright or arrogant??
  18. I read a lot and post every now and then if I feel the need but am a season ticket holder and have been for a number of years. Last night proved a point to me and was highlighted alarmingly by a very good team in Newcastle. We look and have looked a yard or so off the pace, we only get an injection of pace when Redmond comes on or starts but other than that we look slow. I''m sure their fitness levels are good but are they where they need to be, have we only got steady players in the side who will do a job but not much else but is that because they are told to play that way?! I know this sounds weird but when I watch games I watch certain players for a spell to watch how they play, I coach kids and tell them to do the same for players who they like or who play In a similar position and you learn a lot doing this. One of the areas I think we struggle with is our pace of attack, watching Newcastle last night every one of their players was on the move, whether it was the right back or centre midfield it didn''t matter, they were always on the move. This allows the ball to be moved around at pace and as the players are moving they are already moving at some pace, I watched Sammi Ameobi last night who I thought he was superb as was Ben Arfa, they made us look basic. When we have the ball, usually we pass the ball behind the player, we do this all the time with the full backs, which means the player has to stop and wait to receive it or go behind them to collect, we are then going the wrong way and this slows down the play. Fairly basic stuff but it''s been a real trait of ours this season. There are lots of views re certain players and there always will be, but for me it''s the system that we play. He is making us hard to break down with the aim of not conceding but what this does is have a negative effect on your forward play. On a positive note I thought Ryan Bennett is really starting to show what a talent he can be.
  19. Completely agree Reggie. It was a few rows down in front of me, the snake pit reacted to the poor corner but the "argument" was between snoddy and a couple of guys in the city stand. Obviously couldn''t see what they said but snoddy did react and give some back. Fair play to him for coming straight over after the game to apologise. That should be the end of it now, emotions run high not just for the fans but also for the players, the spent 45 mins chasing shadows and that''s hard to take.
  20. Maybe Le Juge, but they have hardly been professional in any of their dealings. First the lambert stuff and then this. They think that talking about players and unsettling them and then getting an ex player telling the press what a great player Wes is blah blah blah is the right way of doing things!
  21. According to Sky Sports, or so they say on Villa Talk. Oh yeah, and apparently his agent and representatives are also at Carrow Road. Holding his hand or picking his dummy up off the floor that he has spat out?!?!
  22. That''s exactly it Mrs. M As I posted the other day, it''s not the fact that we won''t sell just to be stubborn. We don''t need to sell at the price that they have supposedly offered and the way they have gone about it, again, is wrong and they should be pulled up for it. When Lambert left, Villa made it clear in the press that they wanted him, it turned his head and the rest is history. They are trying the same tactic again with Hoolahan and this time using Lambert and Holt as the nudge to unsettle Wes. For that reason only I say we refuse to sell unless they offer us a load more money. They need to show clubs some respect, and even more so to us especially after the Lambert business. Conduct yourself in the right way and you will go a long way, conduct yourself badly and you won''t. If that bites them on the backside because they genuinely want him, then do it properly and approach the club the right way and keep the press and former players out of it. Although I respect the fact that Wes wants to move and will always be thankful for what he has done for this club, he has soured it somewhat with his recent press interviews where he is simply trying to force it through by making the club look bad.
  23. This whole situation really annoys me! Every player should want to play but if the manager doesn''t pick him for whatever reason then he should be entitled to look elsewhere, get all of that and if it was any other club other than Villa I would say off you go Wes and thanks for everything. However, as it''s Villa and if the amount suggested is what they offered then I would say make him stay and see out his contract. Isn''t it funny how Lambert was sniffing around in the summer and it never went anywhere, he gets Holt in and now he''s back sniffing around again. Not only is that the case but we now get these quotes from a Holt about how great Wes is blah blah blah best mates, apply the pressure etc etc. Do it all properly and show some respect Lambert, Holt and Hoolahan, and then maybe people might accept him moving on and to Villa. There is a little part of me that says take away his squad number, make him he see out the rest of the his contract at which point he will be too old for a decent move. He needs to remember that whilst he is under contract the club isn''t obliged to do anything and it''s not like we are desperate for such a small amount of money is it!
  24. Come on Le Juge, get in to the spirit of player bashing. Why go and spoil lit by putting logic or fact in the way....you must be wrong, he hasn''t played for Newcastle because he is rubbish.....
  25. Maybe he had a fall out with Pardew Maybe he is playing away with Pardews daughter, chairmanship daughter, players wife Maybe they bought a new player that is better Maybe Pardew plays a system that doesn''t suit him Maybe......we ought to not write him off before he has played a game. Sometimes I wonder who you lot expect us to sign, you''d all find a problem with Messi, probably be too small, doesn''t speak English, likes a lie-in or any other load of old tosh that can be assumed or made up.
