2.
Isn''t RAC owned by Norwich Union (Aviva)....
Motoring services group RAC has agreed to sell itself to Norwich Union-owner Aviva for £1.1bn ($2.1bn). The deal, which brings together the UK''s biggest insurer and a well-known motoring brand, will lead to about 1,700 job losses at the two businesses. Aviva said it would cut 900 head office jobs and move 800 administration and processing jobs outside the UK. Combining the two businesses would help it achieve cost savings of at least £80m a year by 2006, it said. Aviva did not give details as to where the jobs would go, but a spokesperson said it was "reasonable to assume" that they may be relocated to India or Sri Lanka, where Norwich Union has four operations. It said buying the RAC would boost its Norwich Union insurance business "creating a powerful new combination in insurance and motoring services". Yes it is!!  PS Don''t you just hate the name Aviva, dreadful.
 3. Bye Russell - would be nice to keep you, but we need the money as were broke.  HOW???????
 4.
Unless he flogs Russell for 500k and nicks  James O''Connor right at the last minute for nothing
We could do with the 500k, I feel a new Bistro/Cafe, perhaps in a french theme needs adding to the City Stand.  The facilites there have been long over looked.
 5. Indeed.  Have to say the standard of posting on there has dropped like a team under Peter Grant.
 6.
in the barclay.. where else! Easy! easy! easy!   jas :)
Ah yes, the cries of EASY EASY EASY, all without the slightest hint of sympathy for Utd fans.   Wonderful day!
 7.
At the game, Ive seen us beat man utd many times home and away though.
If only we could commit your memory to video tape Arthur and put it on You tube as well! :)
 8.
I was sat in a restaurant on holiday in Spain, as my sour ex girlfriend kept nagging me as I watched the first half in the pub... No sooner had I sat down in the restaurant though, a Man U fan piped up and the staff unfurlded a large screen directly in front of me (much to my ex''s delight!).  Was great being the only Norwich supporter in with a bunch of Man U ones then! :-D Apparently I embarassed her when Norwich scored :-)
You sound rather happy you embarassed her Gibbo!   :)
 9.
In the Barclay block E. Fantastic night. What the hell is that god awful music in the backround?!
Not that I''m in anyway responsible for the production of the video but the music is a terrible version of the original ''Das Boot'' theme (Klaus Doldinger).  The original music is superb as is the film.
 10. After depressing myself listening to the Canary review, I decided to cheer myself by watching this and felt the need to share it.  The second goal is just great, made special because of the opposition and Wayne Rooney throwing his toys out the pram........Great times.  From playing the Premier league and Euro champions to where we are now in 3 years, how could it happen?  Anyway, where were you when this happened? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M-QJbUPye6M
 11. And makes it worse hearing ''Taylor with the diving header''.  Why oh why did they not just pay the £1 mil asking price in the first place - we dragged it on for weeks and weeks, forcing Birmingham into a rethink only for them to realise, ''oh, he''s a decent player - let keep him''.  So frustrating listening to this - why am I punishing myself?????  :)
 12. Just switched on and heard Hucks scoring.  Thanks, now I really am depressed.  :(
 13.

Rusty is far better than Etuhu IMO.
It''s hard to call for me. I wouldn''t say either could be far better than the other, but as I have said before if you could make their best attributes into one player he would be a hell of a good player.
I would have thought Rusty is the type of player GR likes, hard working, tough tackling 100% sort of player - then again who''s to say who''s pulling the strings at Carrow Road?
 14. Clarets want Russell By Tony Scholes Sunday, 25th May 2008 According to speculation this morning Burnley have targeted Norwich and former Stoke midfielder Darel Russell and according to sources have made an offer for him of around £500,000.Russell has been back with the Canaries, where he started his career, for just a year after spending four years at Stoke. The Londoner came through the youth system at Norwich and made his debut for them in 1998 in a 1-0 win at Reading. For much of his time there he played at right back but it was at Stoke he was moved to midfield. Tony Pulis signed him for £125,000 and he was a regular in the side for four years under Pulis and Boskamp before he opted for a return to Norwich last summer in a deal that is believed to have cost Norwich £410,000, a fee that was reduced because of a previous sell on clause. Now aged 27 he has played over 340 league games for the two clubs and is believed to be one of the players that Owen Coyle has made an offer for. It looks as though we will face competition from both Charlton and Crystal Palace for his services. I think Rustys one of the few players who had a decent last season - wouldn''t want to see him leave frankly.  Then again if we needed to rid of Lewis for £400,00 then maybe a half mil offer will be too good to turn down.  Hope not.
 15.
I know what he''s doing is for charity and of course very admirable it is too, however first and foremost he is paid for playing football.  You''ve suggested that he has asked to be excused from being picked from these two England friendlies. Now I don''t know whether that is true but what I would like to wager is that managers tend to remember things like that and unfortunatley this is very likely to count against him when future sqauds are announced.
If it were a competitive match then I might agree,  but these frendlies are the most pointless thing since I deicded to make a paper mache cloud in primary  school.
 16. I sometimes think our ''were not going to tell anyone what we''ve got to spend'' policy tends to be something of a double-bluff and all the other clubs know it.  It''s meant to make clubs guess and give the impression we have a competitive budget - problem being we have very very little money and all the other clubs know it.  Perhaps we could just admit the budget and go for the sympathy vote, might get us more premiership loanees because let''s face it, were universally liked in general.
 17.

I wonder what Robert Green must be thinking now, he can''t know whether to laugh or cry. It''s extrordinary really that his one and only cap for England came when he was with Norwich and has now seemingly been overtaken by his former understudy and Peterborough Utd goalkeeper !
In all fairness Mid Norfolk, he ruled himself out of the friendlys ages ago as he is doing his charity hike up a mountain.
If Green has made it publicly known to Capello that he would be "unvailable" for playing for his country in favour of climbing a mountain, then I wouldn''t be suprised if he is never chosen again and indeed would probably deserve not to be either !
Sorry but what he''s doing for charity and the invaluable money it will make for charity is far far far more important than another pointless friendly.  Robert Green is well known for the amount of charity work he participates in and I say good on him.

 19.
"Does look a tad soulless don''t you think?" Yeah, it needs an injection of a hotel in the corner, a car showroom, and some luvverly restyrunts (and that''s just for starters)... I think further infrastructure construction should take precedence over the strengthening of the Donny Rovers squad for next season. They need some catching up to do, before the reach our facilities and corporate standards.....
Indeed - except the changing rooms, terrible I''m informed - I have suggested adding a small Bistro in the corner - should smarten them up.
 20.

I gotta ask ! Have you been sacked by the club recently ?   [*-)]
Does sound a bit bitter and twisted perhaps, maybe a certain northern Radio Norfolk pundit? 21.

Feel for anyone who goes to watch an away match at Doncaster though, its a bigger dump than Ipswich!
That''s not true they are now in the Keepmoat Stadium, a small 15,000 seater stadium.
