  1. "]Important words there as in "we have no debt" Despite the obvious and sensible reconstruction of wages Tec following relegation we were told that Norwich do not have to sell but indeed have money to invest in the squad to ensure immediate return to premier league (although not guaranteed) Where is it then? Snoddy out for 8m and RVW gone freeing up wages so in total almost 10 m plus wages of Nash,Fox etc Lafferty an Grabban in for 5m and a free signing. I am not a club apologist far from it but I have to correct this one... According to Transfemark Lafferty cost just under 4M, Grabban was signed for 3M I believe. Snodgrass went for 7M I think though it could have been a bit more RVW''s loan fee is said to be 1.25M meaning we have made a profit of less than 1.5M. The TV Money does not cover our wages I am afraid and we have to sell in order to get more players coming in. We are well off on paper as we have playing assets of 65M (Transfermarkt again), which is more on paper than a few PL teams. FFP kicks in with a loss of only 3M with owners allowed to put 5M in hence I can understand why no further players have yet been linked
  2. ]you have never heard a monkey noises or racist chanting in 700 games ? were you in the Barclay in the 1980''s it was nearly every game !! No, been going for 25 years, I always thought we had a few iffy fans but I really have not heard anything
  3. Ruddy Garrido Tuner Bassong Martin Surman Tettey/Johnson Fer Pilkington Hoolohan Lafferty
  4. Ok Jim out of 30 or so games last season how many would you give a mark over 6/10?? I should think the answer is between 3 and 6 if you are being honest. I personally will be absolutely fuming if we don''t sell. This is a Keith O''Neil moment for me when he turned down a 4M Bid which 10 years plus ago was massive bucks, only to sell for 1M less than 2 years later
  5. I am not doubting that there was an incident yesterday but I have not heard any racist chanting or monkey noises in over 700 games of watching Norwich and I am very shocked at the reports. That said there is a minority moronic element amongst our fan base the Tony Martin chant is embarassing at its best for example. Yesterday was one of the worst days supporting the club i have ever know. The defeat was bad enough, falling out with what appears to be a no of senior players is even worse, the Olsson incident is not good but dragging the club through the mud tops the lot.
  6. I think I should slightly alter the thread title Oh shit are we keeping our players after all... There are some seriously over-rated players at our club who should be gone tomorrow, Redmond, Hooper and Olsson to name 3. Can the Redmond fans please enlighten me is it all potential that you see or are getting some crumbs based on England U21 performances
  7. I am afraid someone thinks we had good shape and there were lots of positives. Yes Adams has just said this, just amazing
  8. To be fair despite being a scummer not sure I disagreed with a great deal there. Lafferty does look our best attacking threat judged by that limited evidence. i think we will be ok but only think now rather than being convinced
  9. Redmond can''t play full stop Whittaker is not that good Olsson is also over rated but was treated disgracefully by the bald bastard in charge Grabban is not that great Ruddy is a very good keeper Lafferty shows promise
  10. Who thinks he is worth 10M now as I said previously get rid for anything half decent, the phrase headless chicken was invented for him i am sorry to say
  11. I think i have equated the start up figure of the Academy with the ongoing costs but I don''t think we are much off paying wages at 90% of turnover. We spent 51M on wages in the season before last but this was based on 13 months not 12. The introduction of Fer and RVW and Ruddy''s new contract would have seen wages go up to about 55M. No no-one is sure of the reduction written into the players'' contracts but I cannot think it can be higher than 30% which equates to 38.5M. A good consequence of few incomings and outgoings is of course less spent on agents. We are in a stable position with our finances but still get to get another couple of the wage bill if only to have room to get in a couple of good loans. On paper we have the best squad in the division and possibly the best team. If you look at the other 2 teams coming down there are in a right mess and will also have to assimilate 9 players very rapidly.
  12. Maybe I have jumped the gun but the new season is now almost here and we have almost exactly balanced our squad from last season Out Fox in O''Neil Out Van Wolfswinkel In Lafferty Out Snodgrass in Grabban I and the rest of you predicted that we would would have lost another 4 or 5 first team regulars by now. The thing is that I think that we need to make one more big sale to balance the books with wages around the 35M mark at an educated guess that would equate to about 90% of our turnover for the season. Thus to keep the Academy at Cat 1 which may be 5M p.a we would need to make another 5M sale? This is the reason that its so quiet on the incoming front we currently can''t afford to sign anyone. Mind you we are doing it the sensible way in stark contrast to Cardiff who have sold their 4 best players and who will not finish in the top 4 or 5 in a billion years.
  13. We only need to sell one main player or two squad members to balance our books I would say but we have now got got solid interest in between 2 and 5 of our players who can probably double their wages if Hull is a benchmark (Snodgrass supposed to be on upwards of 50K/Week) It would take a lot a lot to turn Ruddy''s head but the other linked players have only been here a year. Neil Adams does appear to be doing a spin for a sale this week don''t you think? Every player has a price, need to be prepared etc etc, one doesn''t have to be a cynic. I am going to make a wild prediction that the players to leave will be Beechio, Bassong, Hooper and Redmond.
  14. We will not get 10M let alone with add ons but I think that if we sell for anything up of 6M that would be a good deal. I am afraid that pace and the ability to go past people needs to come with the ability to cross the ball. Also unless I have misread our financial situation we need to be able to make this sale before we tell other Clubs to sod off re the two we really need to keep Ruddy and Olsson and if his head is right Fer. Our wages were 51M in 12-13 for a 13 month period so last season may have been 55M? So with a possible 30% reduction will still be 37M or double the wages last time we were in this league and perhaps 90% of turnover. 3.5M is I assume an opening bid, certainly Southampton are loaded
  15. ]Saw him in Gentlemens walk this afternoon. He was with two others people. Looked pretty relaxed. How I would loved to have approach him and asked him a couple of questions.......in fact I could think of at least 10 questions. But thought it would be out order to approach him on a Sunday. However would be interesting to hear what questions some of you guys would like to ask him. He was actually with Kyle Lafferty who he was showing around Norwich which I thought was indicative of a good attiitude as he is a rival for his postion. He is looking forward to the new season and gave the impression that he was staying. Very nice guy and didn''t seem to mind being approached.
  16. ]If we sell him there goes any hope of promotion. Absolute nonsense, if we get say 7M for him its great business, his approach play may be Premier League his crossing is Non League, a lot of potential is not worth a great deal when we need instant results. Also I think that his add ons amount to over 1/2 Million still if he stays and plays a fair few games.
  17. So what have we done with the Premier League money then? 1) We are 36M down on TV Revenue next season 2) Our wages are at most 20M down, certainly no more without selling Bassong, Hooper, RVW or Fer who will be on the biggest wages. 3) We cannot make a loss of more than 8M due to FFP. Ie as I have said all along we need to sell to get people in. We cannot push the boat out and to a degree I agree that the current squad really ought to do it without further xfers in. If however Tettey and Hoolohan want off as it would appear I would also sell them and splurge in midfield.
  18. ]He is not an upgrade on Elmander Elmander is a much better player who just like every striker seriously struggled under Hughton. Lafferty has yet to excel anywhere, just a mediocre player who would be pants in the Premier League. Just hope that we paid £1m rather than £5m for him![ £4M according to Transfermarkt which is reasonably reliable i am afraid. This does seem to be at least a Million over the top and if the reports from Italy are true borders on the bizzare
  19. "]All these types of programmes do is help keep the social underclass in their place by creating a modern freak show. Jeremy Kyle''s the same pimping the underclass out for a few crumbs off the table so the rest can take the piss. The sad thing is many people watching are falling for it. Blame the people on TV rather than the government and the filth at the top who stay at the top by making sure the poor are at the bottom. I couldn''t agree more, perhaps some facts for those of the Daily Heil/Tory scum leaning: There are a massive 190 families in GB with more than 10 children claiming benefits, perhaps its called benefit street as that is the equivalent of 1 street in the whole Country. There are just 900 with 8 Children or more. The amount spent on job seekers allowance is less than a 1/10 spent on Pensions and is a 1/8 of the uncollected tax on big business. All this is administered by 19 Millionaires in the Cabinet who are waging a war against the working class/poor in this Country who some of you are either too thick to see or actively approve of..
  20. in a nutshell, the OP will be right if and if only if we go straight back up. The Premierships full of what we all despise, stupid arrogant pundits, stupid arrogant away fans and tourists, big team referees and rich sometimes corrupt owners. On the other hand we all want to be there, and if some of the players are mercenaries then some can be all time club legends eg Bolton Jay Jay Okocha. The outlook is much much better than we were last here but it won''t be comforting if we stay down a couple of seasons, in fact a lot of the hard work on finances etc will be undone. We will see
  21. Neil Adams is obviously working on a basis of disepelling the nice Norwich image with his signing of Kyle '' out of control" Lafferty and an apparent bid for Troy " sorry I thought that head was a football" Deeney. Can i suggest the following for this season Harold Schumacher Vinny Jones Materazzi John Terry Rio Ferdinand Joey Barton Paul Gascoigne Maradonna Nicholas Anelka Marlon King Luis Jaws Saurez
  22. Just as an aside, Royle was Adams'' manager at Oldham for five years - someone who he plainly respects and knows well, which adds to the sense behind this appointment. Or alternatively it may prove harder to untangle the Managerial set up and establish a clear chain of command as Neil Adams''s old Manager is now his consultant or mentor or what is he??
  23. Ever heard the expression too many cooks spoil the broth? Which is ironic considering how Delia Smith made her money.
  24. Sorry, an amendment before Mr Norwich City aka City First jumps down my neck. The post of Tech Director is still to be filled apparently, my original point stands though, this new role must have mooted at the Interviews??? How many layers of Management are we putting it here, its getting like a old style quango. Very strange to put it mildly.
  25. The appointment of Joe Royle makes some sort of sense in that he can offer advice if needed on Managerial issues and is an old head in the background. Which brings me on the question as the job of Tech Director was announced before the appointment of Adams; wasn;t it only Adams all along.... The shortlist was to a degree a smokescreen and the scouring of Europe being economical with the actuality as some politician once said. Think about it, the appointment does make sense on the level of Adams being assisted but a combination of Mackay or Lennon and Royle. Now that would look strange.. Think about it
