YellowIce replied to Bongo Boy's topic in Main Discussion - Norwich City
My brother is a wednesday fan and he is about as bewildered with their current state of affairs as some people on here are with ours. They had a good win last saturday . . . finally! Then got trounced in the cup. As for me i cant wait for the game we will turn them over 3-1! easy money -
DEMONSTRATION BEFORE SHEFF WED OPINION POLL
YellowIce replied to Canary Boy's topic in Main Discussion - Norwich City
A demonstration now would see us struggling with relegation come the end of the season. Get behind the team. Fans who turn on NCFC during the tough times are going to do more damage under the title of ''the most loyal and knowledgable fans''. My Ar*e. -
NCFC - what's wrong?
YellowIce replied to Sing Up The South Stand's topic in Main Discussion - Norwich City
But the question is with the gap between the prem and championship becoming so much bigger and the relegated clubs coming down with large budgets (i.e birmingham buying up a lot of good champioship players when they came down like mcsheffery and jerome) how can norwich expect to compete to bring in players ie sharp and eastwood against teams with a realistic chance of promotion. Is a takeover and with it the publicity of this club ''growing'' the only way we can attract top quality players (granted we would get a larger budget with a takeover) Without it grant is going to have a tough time -

Are people realising we are not binners

binners -
Very good post. . . . PG has done an excellent job with the limited resources. I believe Norwich were close to a collapse on the field under the last regime. Time is needed. People who call for his head now seriously over-estimate our clubs financial position. If you look at the pro''s vs con''s i.e. the above post. you can see reasoning behind PG''s thinking for every move. If prem clubs were as willing to loan out players not near the first team as we are we would find it easier to get cover. They are not willing too. WE CANNOT AFFORD A PREMIERSHIP CENTER BACK!!! Id love to see how well this club would do with full backing from fans rather than this constant bemoan of every single decision.

Peter Grant's Tartan Army is No More
YellowIce replied to Huddy 's topic in Main Discussion - Norwich City
I think the january window will be a good judge of where he thinks the weaknesses are. he knows we need more cover at the back but people are not realising we cannot afford a premiership class center back and the loan options so far have know we are interested but have choosen themselves not to come to us. -

Peter Grant's Tartan Army is No More
YellowIce replied to Huddy 's topic in Main Discussion - Norwich City
people who say he has had a year are stupid. he has only just got all the old players out and new players in with a very limited budget. . . . . .6 league games! and when people no doubt reply to this and say "why didnt he sort out the defense then?" the simple answer is there are not many players better at CB than we currently have who we would not have to blow our whole budget and some more on. -
Otsemebor could be used in midfield
YellowIce replied to silver fox's topic in Main Discussion - Norwich City
I dont think Otsembor could play as a right sided midfielder. He looks a bit edgy with the ball at his feet and confronted by opposition players. His greatest ability going forward is his off the ball running. He can pull opposition defenders out of position with his pace. The two brilliant through balls Chadwick did on sat should have led to two assists for Otsembor as he got across from the right so fast. He is also what we need at the back, we can handle the big slower paced players but if we face an attack with pace the doc, dublin and shacks are all in trouble. . . Otsembor is the key. -
Dave The Striker - Get the f*** in!
YellowIce replied to mbncfc's topic in Main Discussion - Norwich City
Dave the striker is a breath of fresh air for Norwich. I dont know if evryone noticed but hes pretty damn pacey for a big man. He can do what Brown does and hold up the ball but also brings a lot more to the field. Did you see him running down the clock on sat - like watching Brazil ! -
Should we now go after Warnock?
YellowIce replied to First Wizard's topic in Main Discussion - Norwich City
I think fans are too ready to look for a quick fix. Grant has the passion and drive but also knows how to win games. Running the game from midfield is so important for not letting leads slip like we have been doing, and as a midfielder he will get the balance right. Warnock is a good manager really but chopping and changing is not the way to settle a squad and progress. Grant was a good choice for city and deserves the time mangers used to get to really build a squad ready to push. -
Waghorn - Why we can't get a center back
YellowIce replied to blahblahblah's topic in Main Discussion - Norwich City
The problem is not with our club, it is with football in general. The FA want to keep the Premier League the best league in the World. And why wouldnt they it is a platform for the best players in the world. The roughly £40 million a season that is pumped into the premier league clubs means that they are able to financially sustain giant squads, sumthing that championships can no lorger reallistically sustain. They opt to keep these large squads "in case". "In case" they make the champions league, "in case" they make Europe, "in case" one of there distant sqaud turns into a supersatr in reserve games and "in cas" there first 26 players get killed in a plane crash. So what is the answer. . . .squad caps by the FA meaning that players with potential and lesser known squad players are split through the leagues. BUT why should English teams suffer under squad caps when there European counterparts who they compete against in such financially rewarding competitions dont. They shouldnt. . . so now its a fifa issue. We were the only country in the world who really cares about their second divsion. . . . . untill that £96million "bridge the gap payment" was made all the lower leagues put together out of the premiership 2.4billion budget. So Premiership teams do not look to loan out players to the lower leagues except on rare occasions and when they do they do not want to do it without finacial rewards. . . and why should they. And when they do NCFC is not at the top of the pecking order, in our own corner of the country away from the eyes of managers (i.e shawcross, but i believe this is a weak argument). But players want to go to clubs that continue to make pushes for promotion not teams that are going backwards . . . which is arguably what norwich have been doing for the last 3 years. The answer is a good youth system and unknown buys i fear for a club like ours, but i do believe that peter grant is the man to take us forward and we must get behind the team not criticise the players we have got. However our board need to compete financially or i cant see a change. . . .
