  1. Some extraordinary scores, no doubt alcohol and food related. One in particular stands out
  2. VAR again. Stonewall penalty for handball. I can't see how that wasn't given
  3. Errr. Cantwell scored 6 from midfield in an extremely poor relegated team. You seem to think he was a Premier League standard player then but now isn't. I have no doubt he has personal issues but that doesn't change his level of ability.
  4. No they wouldn't. They'd look exactly the same as what I'm watching at the moment.
  5. Switch your TV on. There are 21 headless chickens and TC
  6. 6 goals from midfield in one of the worst Premier League teams in history. There are opinions and there are facts.
  7. I'm currently watching Celtic v Rangers which is essentially 21 Championship players and Todd Cantwell.
  8. Well said. I have never done anything to deserve a national honour but if I had I wouldn't accept anything with British Empire in the title. As for knighthoods, surely the king should be out and about doing that? The guy from Leeds who has been running marathons for MND should have been knighted on the finishing line.
  9. I think I remember the SNP. I'm sure they used to be a political party.
  10. Mainly football related but I'm interested in anything to do with the history of Norwich so feel free to post whatever you want. Here's a clip about The Nest I found on YouTube
  11. I'm too lazy for that. I did read a book once and it was very good but I can't for the life of me remember what it was called 🤔
  12. Not Christmas viewing but I've just got access to the 2nd and 3rd series of Slow Horses on apple tv. The 2nd series is excellent, especially Gary Oldman. One scene with him eating Chinese food is disgusting but at the same time compulsive viewing.
  13. This is going to be probably the most important election in world history if Trump runs. Much like the British, the Americans take a very singular view of politics and aren't remotely concerned about world affairs. They have little interest in the war in Ukraine and will vote accordingly. That means that Europe is going to have to fund Ukraine or accept that Putin will set about recreating the USSR. The degree of interference in the American election from Russia will be off the scale. Trump won before using social media and with the help of Russia he'll probably win again. I find it terrifying that the Democrats will go with Biden. There must be someone else surely?
  14. Oh dear. May as well vote Conservative then. Sorry, but history proves that this country doesn't elect left wing governments. Maybe in 25 years time but not now. Your choice is another 5 years of incompetence and corruption or Starmer.
  15. Yes. That was the Black Dog of Bungay that ran across the marshes and ripped apart the church congregation in Blythburgh. It scratched the door on the way in and was kind enough to go back and scratch the replacement door many years later😂
  16. You are quite right to say the gain from concerts etc would be minimal (although when you are selling alcohol in those quantities it would normally be sale or return). We are in a quandary. In the Premier League we could easily sell out a 45,000 stadium 8 times in a season. As has been pointed out, we don't need 27,000 seats in the Championship. Then we have to consider the possibility of a European Super League which would eventually change everything. Before the rise in interest rates and increase in building costs the projection was that if a new stand was financed completely with borrowing we would need to sell 90% of the extra seats over 20 years to pay back the loan. Those figures are now in a bin in the corner of the room. I would urge everyone to write to their MP, District Councillor and Norwich City Council and ask them about the possibility of a tidal barrier at Yarmouth and/or flood plains between Yarmouth and Norwich. Simply burying our heads in the sand and denying it's going to happen isn't good enough. My view is that we don't spend any money until the flood problem is sorted and in the unlikely event that we become an established Premier League club. Sad to say it but I doubt either will happen.
  17. In answer to how much income concerts generate, it's relatively little. When Take That played at Carrow Road the club provided the stadium free and I think that's the general rule. The only income the club gets is from sale of food and drink. The band gets all the income from ticket sales and merchandise. Norwich City spoke to other venues and ordered enough alcohol for the 2 nights of Take That and sold it in one night. Well done ladies of Norfolk! I've no idea what that means in terms of income but I'd guess at a profit in excess of £250k a night but that depends on the band.
  18. I don't know if that ship has sailed or not. I have no idea if the prediction is correct but 15 years ago there was a report on land losses on the east coast of Norfolk going forward 50 years. That report was ignored as being fanciful but 15 years on we're almost there already. The amount of land lost to the sea at Hemsby and Winterton in the last 2 years is beyond the wildest predictions but despite that Norfolk County Council and Norwich City Council don't seem to have a long term plan. Added to that, the flood levels 5 miles from the City at Bramerton and Surlingham aren't good. I emailed a County Councillor when the football ground report was published and asked what NCC were planning to do. I haven't received a response.
  19. We should have done it years ago but it's too late now. The land Carrow Road is built on has probably become unsaleable due to climate change predictions. Unless of course Norfolk County Council gets its finger out and creates some huge flood plains outside the City. The big question is, did MA do due diligence on this problem? The latest predictions were published after he signed up.
  20. It's thought possible that the story of the Black Dog of Bungay is in some way responsible for the interest in Satan in the town. It made national news after the last census.
  21. The problem with Desert Island Discs is that it's too long with boring guests or too short for people who are interesting. I thought Delia was interesting and I could happily have listened to an extra hour.
