1. I seem to remember saying he''d consider buying from the continent. One of his first interviews about signings for this coming transfer window.
2. Although we''re winning at this stage the absence of Hoolahan is really evident. Neither of the two centre midfielders has ability to keep possession. I think we need a player that can do this in the middle (when Fox and Hoolahan aren''t playing)...
3. Whitbread definitely seems the most tidy on the ball, but whether his lack of pace will ultimately mean he can''t quite cut the prem...time will tell! Sol Bamba from Leicester seems good if we need someone else in january.
4. To counter the negativity on here today, nice to hear Adeyemi had a good game on saturday and Paul Dickov is speaking highly of him! The kids are always the future of every club. Shame we dont produce more who are capable of playing for us at the highest level. Be good for Francomb and Korey to get some loan time...
5. Rudd, Johnson, Crofts, Holt (c), Surman, C. Martin, Bennett, Barnett Tierney, De Laet, Naughton No Pilkington, injured?
6. Hopefully Oldham play the ball on the floor, unlike his stint at Bradford last season. Will be good for him, gifted footballer, just needs time ''battling'' to turn into a good player. Have high hopes for Adeyemi!
7. I think a club like Everton is a realistic destination for Lambert...I don''t see the top 5 having the courage to appoint someone who doesn''t have experience of managing a big club (with a commanding history)! It also depends whether he feels he can achieve more at Norwich and if the board back him. If we stay up I can see him staying at Norwich for another season. If not Malky Mackay or Lee Clark would be my two choices to suceed him...but hopefully it doesn''t come to that!
8. Quality player, great vision and has really worked on the defensive side of his game...I think he''s as important as Hoolahan as he''s the player that enables the other midfielders (in more offensive areas) to get the ball early!
9. Howler for Newcastle apparently in friendly at Elland Road....bring back memories!
10.
What happens to the likes of Smith & Hughes if they are deemed unsuitable for the squad of 25 and there''s no clubs interested in taking them on?
They get sent on a 3 month training schedule with Glenn Roeder and Bryan Hamilton. Their careers coming to a rapid standstill !
11. I didnt make the point very well. Roeder always bought players from ''bigger'' teams or the higher league at a time when Croft was deemed a standout player for us. If Roeder had a decent knowledge of the lower leagues, we could have got better players than the likes of Koroma or Omozusi...I just found it interesting that Croft couldnt get into a league 1 side and was once our player of the season!
12. Not saying Croft is as good as Pilkington, by any stretch of the imagination. Just interesting they were in the same huddersfield squad last season. Croft didn''t get a look in from memory! People used to say Rodent was a good judge of players...not in this case. More proof that Lambert (or his scouts) have an eye for raw gem...or hopefully anyway!
13. I still think a solid (pacey) centreback, creative midfielder (more proven than Bennett ie top championship) and GK are more important that a DMF but, then again, im not the manager (to the benefit of NCFC)!
14. http://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/football/world-football/2011/06/17/mark-fotheringham-shocked-as-cypriot-side-famagusta-ban-scots-star-from-training-86908-23207140/ Looks like Dundee United fans weren''t too keen on Fotheringham judging by the comment at the bottom of this...
15. Since when did Norwich have the right to be a successful side! Yes, we are having a poor season, but is it not clear that negativity breeds failure.....we were in the premiership 3 seasons ago. GET OVER IT!No one at the club wants us to be in this situation (believe it or not!) and the more cynicism at Carrow Road, the harder it becomes for the players to express themselves on the pitch. You have to earn the right to be a successful team and at the moment we have some ok players and some good ones. The problem is, partly, to do with money and a lot to do with attitude......agree / disagree?
16. No, not at all. I think most signings Grant is after will be surprises and are being kept ''under wraps''. This Gilks guy was out of the blue &, although not Marshall, looks a good prospect. I think its a decent idea to get two keepers in and allow Lewis some first team experience out on loan. Much better for his development than playing reserve team football in that crap league! It is slightly worrying we don''t seem to have prioritised the centre back position. Although the Anderson news quotes Grant as stating he wasnt on his posible list.  Would those Man Utd players on loan at Sunderland be a possibility?
