1.
I have never felt so fed up, so uninspired by a NC team, nor felt such a lack of passion about our team.
I feel exactly the same WAY49. I know there is another thread running talking about the politics of what should be done and NCISA''s involvement but I am keen to canvass the views of a number of fans to see whether we are in the minority or majority.
 2. *How fed up are you and is there anything WE can do to change it?
 3. I am getting increasingly more fed up as the season goes on. The team we have (on paper) should be much higher up in the league and the inconsistency that this team shows is just unbelievable. We have underachieved for the past 3 or 4 seasons and I''ve really had enough. I have a season ticket, have done for the past 10 years and I''ve seen some rubbish in that time but never have I felt less enthusiastic about going to games. Who is at fault? I really don''t know but I guess the buck has to stop with the manager and of course the board if the manager isn''t given the resources to do his job. I personally think that Roeder has a good enough team to be fighting for a good position in this league so has to take most of the blame. That said, the board keep appointing these managers that are unable to take Norwich forward so should be taking some blame too. IMO the club needs a shake up from top to bottom and a change of control in the boardroom with some ambitious directors taking control. Easy to say I know but without this I see nothing more than what we are being served up now with maybe a relegation fight or two for excitement! BUT obviously that is just my opinion. How fed up are you and is there anything WE do to change it?
 4.

We8wba, I have stuck up for you in the past - as I feel it''s refreshing for other fans to come on here and post. However I do have to question your assumption that your fans are the fine people you suppose. Three times I have been to Molineux in the recent past (ie beyond the 70s and 80s. First time we won (2-0 under Martin O''Neill), we came out - we were a family group plus friends and no men under 30 and had knives stuck in front of us. I had my children with me, at the time both of school age. Nice!! We were rescued by the Police on that occasion and escorted to our cars. No stickers on car, no colours worn by anyone. They were waiting for us (and no doubt others) at the away exits. Second time we lost - and were set upon just before the famed underpass. Again no colours - though a little girl and her grandfather were attacked crossing the road - they had scarves on. We went on the supporter coach on that occasion and people were being stoned getting on it! Third and last time - play off semi, we were subjected to coins thrown onto us by home fans above us. This after my water bottle was taken away from me at the entrance by over zealous stewards. How ironic that your fans were allowed in with stuff they could throw at us. I wrote to your CE after the event but didn''t get a response. No surprise. After the game (we lost but still made the play offs you will remember) we were unable to celebrate as yet again there were a crowd of your fans waiting for us at the exits. Police looked on as they subjected several people to abuse. As a result of this I will never visit your ground again. It''s not safe to do so. I may point out I am a middle aged woman who takes responsibility for the safety of my children extremely seriously. I have never incited anything and have been to countless other away fixtures in over 30 years of supporting Norwich City. Your ground is definitely the worst.
sorry to hear about your bad incidents and obviously i cant comment on them on a postive not i do know police at wolves have upped in recent years mainly due to all derbies we get nowdays and cardiff incident the other season. i personally find when travelling with your clubs official coaches is that if you go to ground like cardiff, leeds, wolves, stoke you tend to have more police protecting you and you generally in much safer hands than say you went to a ...... plymouth. the fans above you would only lob stuff at away fans if they have been goaded. i know that for fact! but im not saying its right they do that. also away supporters are now section on side pitch instead sharing behind the goal. this also for police protection
This is incorrect. I too was at the game and there was no goading to warrant what the Wolves fans were throwing at us that night. I was a first hand observer of the idiotic behaviour of some of your fans outside the ground - I wasn''t looking for it either just minding my own business walking back to the car. I also witnessed a hard man picking on a guy as he tried to put his two young boys in the car. Fortunately, there were enough Norwich fans around to quiten this guy down. You speak to any Norwich fan that went that night and you will hear very similar stories. This game is why we now only hate Wolves and Ipswich. It too was my last ever visit to Molineux.
 5. Were Wenger and Mourinho top class players? I don''t think you necessarily need to practice what you preach. He seems quite well respected (although it is his own website saying as much)... http://www.acblack.com/Department/Article.asp?article_id=127&dept_id=11
 6.
i wouldnt have him... it sounds like John Hartson all over again.. a huge (and probably expensive) Gamble which will all end in tears. jas :)
Or DD all over again Jas? Are you a gambling man...
 7. ...target man and not THE target man would you have him at Norwich? Current strikers are clearly goal shy, we have youngsters that may benefit from his vast experience and what happens when THE target man comes in and he tweaks a hamstring and is out for three weeks? You have seen from the last couple of games how desperately we need a big powerfull striker but I would be interested in you thoughts? IMO I''d take him as a squad addition and competition/back-up for THE target man.
 8.

So far everyone has put Fozzy ahead of Russell. This really baffles me because I can not see what Fozzy brings to the party. IMO no real creativity and all passes are a yard sideways or backwards. Personally I''d put Russell alongside Clingan. A question for you; have you included Fozzy because he is the captain or because you believe him to be the better player? Oh and Bell over Croft everytime. I don''t want to make a habit out of bashing City players but what use is a winger who can pass 3 players and then fail to make a cross??
You mean Fozzy whose games genarally coincided with wins/draws and absences (especially his injury) with losses? People choose Fozzy over Rusty because Fozzy keeps posession, while Rusty runs round alot more and looks to be doing more, but doesn''t actually do as much that is useful for the team.  Its workrate/battling against keeping the ball and patience.   The preference for Rusty is indicative of why England do nothing at international level.
Can''t agree with this, maybe I''m missing something but Fozzy is another Andy Hughes IMO. Lots of passion but not a great deal of quality. Russell adds some steel to the midfield. Personally I''d replace both with a ball player and an attacking midfielder who can score goals but for the time being Russell edges it for me. I''m hoping Clingan could be our ball player - he certainly looked good in possesion against Spurs and rarely misplaced a pass. Fozzy and Rusty would be useful squad players.
 9.
Looks like the mystery striker hasn''t arrived on schedule. Here''s hoping he turns up before the end of the week...
Wasn''t the ''48 hours'' quote after the game? We''ve a good 4 and a bit hours yet...!

 11.
Had to chuckle last night with the new fitness routine. There was Tommy Wright and anothe very large guy in black out with the players before the match. Inspirational or what? Obviously the big guy is Pattys personal trainer as they share a similar shape- another Roeder "old boy" cock-up!
I believe the ''very large guy'' is the new fitness guru/consultant...
 12.
I mentioned this earlier, get your own stats! [:P] Seriously though, the level of hysteria isn''t surprising unfortunately, in fact 7Rew and I predicted it more or less as soon as we conceded. Remember the season after, though? We beat Watford, I think it was, 4-0 and ended the season outside the play-offs.  Then the next season we drew 2-2 with Bradford, the third 4 goal opening game in a row... and we know what happened next.  Early results matter very little; friendly results matter not at all.
Sorry Evil, I honestly didn''t see your earlier stats! Just can''t believe the huge swing from overly optimistic to hugely pessimistic over one friendly result against a very good Spurs side.
 13. The opposition: Millwall. Anyone remember this result early on in 2001/2002? Anyone remember how we faired that season? Just trying to put a little perspective on last night''s result! Were any of you guys there? There was hardly a tackle made. This was a pre season friendly. The objective: match fitness! I wouldn''t be surprised if the teams were told not to tackle, thus not risking injury. Can''t believe we were play-off favourites at 7 o''clock on Monday and by 9.30 p.m. we are relegation certainties. Talk about fickle. I saw some very good performances by players in yellow and green last night. I''m optimistic.
 14.

Didn''t he??
Did he? Leicester got relegated, so I''m guessing he didn''t set the midfield alight.  Luton were in League One, now League Two - bit of a step up to the Prem, isn''t it?
Far from it. Played very well at Leicester but one player can''t keep a team up - not in 6 games anyhow! Highly rated at Luton too - won a couple of awards in the last couple of seasons. http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,11095_3593137,00.html I''ve not seen him enough to make a judgement on his performances myself and can only go on what I have read but I''m fed up of people writing players off just because they don''t know enough about them themselves. Give the guys a chance.
I''m not writing him off.  I''m saying I don''t think we can call him a "Premiership Quality" player without seeing him play and that hyping players up before they''ve been properly seen is a recipe for disappointment.
Agreed! But lets be a little more optimistic about our signings (and hope last year was just a blip - signings wise). I trust Roeder and Clark to be able to pick a player...

 16.

Players potentially good enough are Bertrand (give it a year or 2) Hoolahan, (could make the step up, as he hasn''t failed any challenge he''s had yet) Bell (see above) Lupoli (as wenger would put it, he has excellent foundations, a great first and second floor, just needs the roof and he''ll be quality (comparing player development to house building!) Marshall (would get in a lower prem team already Omosuzi (see bertrand) Stefanovic (maybe could have hacked another year there at say Stoke or Hull) Mystery new target man (will have premiership quality hopefully) Pattison (played a few times for Newcastle, maybe has something a lot of us haven''t seen yet!) Clingan (potential to move up if he does well here) despite this, i still rate Fozzy as my favourite current player, because of his work rate, mentality and desire, even if he''s not our most technically gifted players
This is such nonsense. You''re talking about players you haven''t seen play (Omusuzi), players we haven''t signed yet ("mystery target man"), you''re suggesting Pattison is premier quality (did you see him play last year?  He makes Russell look like Ronaldinho), and Bell didn''t do too well at Leicester, or Luton (miles away from the premiership). I''m all for positive thinking and all that, but you''re delusional.
Didn''t he??
 17. Survival of the fittest isn''t it? If you''re playing well you''re in the team and enjoying your football. If you''re not you''re on the bench. When this becomes your regular spot you eventually get unhappy and leave. It''s what makes teams better. Sounds a bit harsh but if they''re not good enough they move on - better players come in and challenge the current 1st team regulars. The idea is you get better each time!
 18. Some linkage... http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/teams/r/rangers/6958410.stm http://www.portsmouth.vitalfootball.co.uk/article.asp?a=30475 http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dejan_Stefanovi%C4%87
 19. OTBC wrote: interresting ideas on having stefanovic as a left back. not really sure he would have the pace there ..   He played at left back for Pompey for a while albeit a year or so ago now. Having seen the Doc playing Right Back, Stefanovic at left back wouldn''t worry me in the slightest. I don''t actually see him having to play there for us, I was just making a point about squad depth and cover in an emergency.
 20.
I think another center back and a striker, the problem will, despite all the signings, be if we get injuries.  No strength in depth judging by the academy/fringe players.
Have to disagree with this. If we do get a CB and a CF (Kennedy and Sibierski for arguments sake) then I think we do have squad depth for the first time in a long while with the exception of a back-up keeper. Take a look, I don''t think we need much more:                        Marshall Semmy   Kennedy   Stefanovic   Bertrand Bell      Russell      Clingan      Hoolihan                Lupoli      Sibierski                        Back-up Keeper Omosuzi      Doherty   Shackell      Drury Croft            Fozzy      Pattison       Chadwick                   Cureton      Martin   As you say, I''d like to see the CB and CF come in along with a back-up keeper. I then believe we''ll have a strong squad with at least two players for each position. There are also players that can play more than one position listed below so I think our squad depth is now OK. Omosuzi (RB, CB) Stefanovic (CB, LB) Bertrand (LB, LM) Pattison (CM, LM) Russell (CM, RM) Bell (RM, CM, LM) Chadwick (RM, CM, LM) Add to this the possibility of a couple more loans in Gibbs and another Striker and I wouldn''t want to see anyone else coming in without shipping some the other way. I don''t want players becoming unsettled with a lack of first team football!
 21.
Thats the impression I got, if not we would have heard I think. If the news about Doherty is true, then it does raise the issue of having 2 left footed centre backs (I think Stefanovic is left footed at least...?) starting. I think he''''ll give a longer run out to Clingan, as with Bell and Hoolahan. I doubt Bell has come just to sit on the bench with a ''one winger'' policy, I also believe we''ll start with Lupoli up front with Makiese (who I hope we sign). You never know, another player or two might have signed by then...                              Marshall Otsemobor   Someone  Stefanovic  Drury    Bell             Russel       Clingan     Hooooooooooooolahan               Lupoli       Exciting new forward/ Exciting almost new forward in the form of Makiese
This one gets my vote. I''d put the loanee from Fulham in at centre half. I think he plays there just as well as he does at full back. The only change for Coventry for me would be the big guy up front!
 22. Some further substance to the rumour on the Wrath... http://www.wrathofthebarclay.co.uk/interactive/board/message.php?pid=869835
 23.
Not read the thread (lazy, and whatever). Might be worth considering the distance that we are from where they are based.  Is it worth the long travel?  Is it worth relocating?
London is not really that far nowadays...especially when they get on with the A11 dualling!
