Bethnal Yellow and Green wrote the following post at 09/10/2013 11:41 AM: "...the creativity is expected to come from Pilkington and Snodgrass who are playing much narrower than previously and are both closer in position to RvW than Howson or Fer. " Giving them the chance to have a crack at goal when in that position. No problem with Pilks doing this but would rather see Redmond on the right as he has a better shot on him than Snoddy. The only issue being Redmond''s defensive frailties compared to Snoddy.
  2. tom cavendish wrote the following post at 09/10/2013 2:17 AM: "Since pre-season I have been saying that Tettey & Fer should be starting in midfield, that Pilkington was the best left-winger and most capable of linking with RVW, and that Redmond should be competing with Snodgrass for a place on the right." You and a few thousand others.... With three in midfield we are not playing two DMs and one AM however as Fer is also capable (and expected) to push forward as well. To put the whole onus on Howson as ''the'' attacking midfielder is incorrect. Additionally this formation is supposed to allow the two fullbacks to get forward more and the two wingers to pose more of a goalscoring threat.

  4. IMHO the problem is that whoever plays on the wings - Snoddy, Pilks, Redmond or even Murphy are conscious that to keep their place they would rather have a crack at goal than passing to someone in an arguably better position. It''s a shame that Bennett isn''t playing in some respects as he is probably more of a team player.
  5. He might just have been busy. Perhaps the "wonder why" is a big secret that he''s busting to tell us? Perhaps Delia is finally selling up?
  6. Making Plans wrote the following post at 27/09/2013 12:27 PM: "I did say "rarely" & there will always be exceptions to the rule. When did we ever loan out someone who came back a better player than when they went and where are they now?" One of those exceptions looks to be Declan Rudd, 13 clean sheets in the last 22 games and according to the PNE fans he is the "complete goalkeeper".
  7. Salopian wrote the following post at 27/09/2013 8:49 AM: "Josh and Callum Morris are in the England U21 squad and will learn from that. " Oh, come on, Carlton Morris and it''s the Under 19s.
  8. ....and I''m sure I read somewhere that CH would not be sending the Murphys out on loan.
  9. The FA Youth Cup run was a step down for the Murphy twins as they were an essential part of our Under-21 team. They were more productive in the Under-21 games as they were playing alongside more experienced players and were not left exposed (along with Morris in the FAYC) in the opposition''s half. Losing the ball to a defender in the opposition''s half is much more likely when you have no one showing for the pass and that sort of "serious mistake" would not happen so often when playing with experienced team mates.

  12. Reggie Strayshun wrote the following post at 25/09/2013 3:05 PM: "Why are you so dismissive of everything and everybody, Joanna ? Obviously I don''t know you personally, but your constant jibes, negativity and put-downs on here suggest a troubled mind. The Daily Mirror is not my first choice of newspaper,it has to be said, but to write off any reasonably written article in the way you have done is simply bizarre. You may not agree with the basic tenet of the piece, but that does not mean it''s worthless." As Power Hamster pointed out it''s rubbish, lazy journalism. It''s in the Daily Mirror which my Grandad used to read and he was a bloody communist and this thread was started by Wiz who is the biggest arsehole on the Forum. Is that enough reason for a bit of negativity? And God knows why I bothered replying to some eejit who called me a nutter..
  13. Same protagonists. Same victims. Similar amount of dead. Vastly different news coverage.
  14. ''molly'' is obviously their equivalent of ''City 1st''. I will laugh when they don''t even make the play-offs.
  15. A nothing piece of journalism (if you can actually call it that) in a cheap left wing rag. Move along, nothing to see here.
  16. Seems like Hughton is already relying on Redmond though. Murphy is only a little bit younger. If they can beat their man, get crosses in and score goals more often than Snodgrass or Pilkington then why not?
  17. RvW said that the plan was to bring in two new wingers over the summer. We brought in Redmond who is, no doubt, a proper winger. We also brought in Olsson who can play there but is more of an attacking Left Back. With Bennett''s injury we tried to get another winger but nothing came of it. Hughton said this of Josh Murphy after the game; "“I thought long and hard about starting him and perhaps the result on Saturday made me change my mind. I was so pleased for him and what a goal he produced. He can certainly benefit from the open spaces and with somebody with his quality and pace you know he can hurt teams." Redmond was taken off on Saturday as he got no joy on the left wing, one of the commentators queried as to why him and Snoddy did not swap wings for a while before he was substituted. We all know that Redmond prefers the right wing and that is where he is most effective but Snoddy currently holds that position (and is fighting to prove his worth there judging by his actions over the penalty incident). I think Hughton would dearly love to play Redmond and Murphy, two quick proper wingers, but that would mean benching Snodgrass, unless he experiments with playing Snoddy (or Pilks FTM) in the AM role.

  19. Donkey dangler wrote the following post at 24/09/2013 2:32 AM: "Tettey and Fer in the middle for me, with Pilkington playing in the hole just behind the Wolf." Worth a try, Pilks is probably our best all round attacking option.
  20. Herman wrote the following post at 25/09/2013 6:56 AM: "Holloway, like Warnock, are fantastic championship managers. That is their limit." That''s why the League One level members on here would like him. As long as it''s "entertaining", eh?
